Hurt
I couldn't believe August would do something like this. I let him in, after all we've been through he goes and does this to me.
I wipe my single tear from my eye as Michelle hugs me and rubs my back.
I've been hurt too many times in my life. I gave a chance at love. Maybe he planned this, but coming to my moms birthday party so he could be with that.. That
I can't even process correctly, I wipe my eyes one last time and pull away from Michelle's embrace.
"Thank you" I cheese wearily at her, she's been with me through a lot.
I need to suck it up and be a women about this, no wonder he hasn't called and texted me.
Out of all people Jessica? JESSICA! Really, that doesn't even sound like August at all.
Michelle looks over at me cautiously before going to the bathroom. I guess she was afraid of what I was gonna do
Butting my lip I sit down, I need a book. This is all too much
I hear a knock at the door followed by a voice I really needed to hear my moms.
"Come in" I say putting on a fake smile.
I look up to see she has a tray in her hands.
"What's in the Tray?" I ask, adjusting my position in the seat.
"I'll tell you, if you tell me why you're putting on a fake smile for the women that birthed you" she compromises
I laugh at the idea, my mom knows me too well.
Michelle finally comes out the bathroom and sits in the chair next to me.
She speaks to my mom and they carry on a short conversation.
My mind drifts back to Chris and how we could've been. To be honest I missed my best friend. My parents always liked Chris, they thought he was "the one"
"What's got your pretty forehead wrinkled up?" My mom interrupts.
"August" one word that causes so many emotions to radiate through my body.
"What has he done?" My mom asks
I tell everything from the day I left to now, Michelle adds her two pieces in there and I laugh. She always knows how to brighten my day
"You have to remember God never makes mistakes, you have to believe in him and all that he can do. If you feel like August didn't do this, talk to him. It could always be something bigger going on you already said you didn't trust Jessica" I hear my mom say
I crack my knuckles and listen to her comments. Maybe something is going on August hasn't told me much about his past but from interviews I know a little bit.
MAYBE he didn't do it.
