-Vics POV-
We were in the middle of playing The Divine Zero when my phone rang. "C'mon Vic, I told you to put your phone on silent while we're practicing." Said Mike. "Sorry, I forgot." I looked at the caller ID and it said 'unknown'. I usually ignore these calls, but just this once, I answered it. "Hello?" I ask. "Its Athena. I need you guys to come to the hospital now." "Is everything okay?" I ask. "I dont know, Dr.Snyder thinks there is something wrong with the baby." "Okay," i say, "im coming now." I hung up my phone and set me guitar down. "We have to go." I tell the boys. "Why?" Asked Jaime. "Athena thinks theres something wrong with the baby. We need to go to the hospital." I looked at Tony's and Jaimes reaction. It looked like their eyes were gonna pop out of their head.
We got into Tonys car and he drove us to the hospital. "Hello," a nerse greeted us. "How may i help you?" "Hi," Tony says, "we need to see Dr.Snyder." she told us where her office was and we literally ran there. "Hello boys," said who im guessing is Dr.Snyder. "You guys can take a seat over there." She pointed her finger towards the corner of the room, but we made a small half circle around Athena.
"Can you tell me the news now?" Athena asks worryingly. Dr.Snyder took a deep breath in and looked up at the ceiling. "Im so sorry for your loss." Was all she said. I looked around at the guys to see how they took it. Jaime was balling his eyes out. Tony had his head in his hands, probably crying. Mike looked pissed/sad. I looked down at Athena and she was holding her stomach, sobbing. "No! My baby is not dead!" She sobbed. "Im sorry." Dr.Snyder said again. "You will have to give birth still. Today." We all hugged Athena and let her cry on our shoulders. After a couple of minutes, she let go of us. "Okay," she said wiping away some tears from her face, "lets go." "Are you sure you want to do this?" Jaime asked her. She nodded. "Alright, follow me please."
Dr.Snyder lead us to the 'Delivery Room' and that made Athena cry even more.
-skipping birth scene-
It was awful. The whole thing. All of us couldn't stop crying. A nurse was about to take the baby away when Athena stopped her. "Wait," she says, "I want to hold my baby." The nurse gave her a sad smile and handed her the baby. "What's the sex?" I ask. "Female." The nurse responded. My baby girl is dead, I thought. Athena kissed her forehead and was gonna hand her back to the nurse when Jaime stopped her. "I wanna hold her, too." Athena handed Jaime the baby. We all ended up taking turns holding her.
"You can go now." Said a nurse when i finished signing some papers. We walked out to the car and drove home.
The car ride was silent. I told Vic to drive because I wanted to sit next to Athena in the back. Mike was in the passenger seat, and Jaime was on the other side of Athena.
-Athenas POV-
We were almost halfway to Jaimes house when my phone buzzed. It was MJ.
M- Hey :) I am so sorry. I heard wha happened. Just know that i am here for you whenever. Just call or text me. I will see you at Jaimes house. Bye.
I was too sad to respond. Wait, no, i wasn't sad. I felt nothing. Jusy numbness.
A couple of minutes later, Vic pulled into Jaimes driveway and we walked into his house. MJ was watching TV when we came in. She ran to me and hugged me like her life depended on it.
We made our way to the living room and sat down in a circle on the floor. We talked about what happened, we told storied to lighten the mood, and most of all, we told eachother that it will be alright. And that we will make it through this together. As a family.
