Unexpected: Hide and Seek | Twilight Edward Cullen [2]

New Version Available

For the old readers, those who have already read the first version of the Unexpected Duology (which is still available on my account), this must seem quite surprising. Allow me to explain the sudden decision behind this rewrite.

The first two books were written years ago, after I had previously re-watched the Twilight Saga and, in the heat of the moment, been driven by a quite strong envy to write a story with Edward Cullen as the love interest. However, I made this decision on an impulse without having properly thought or constructed a story around my main original character. To put it simply, I had one idea and a dream, and ran with it. As a result, I only utilized the surface of my ideas and my two original characters, Irene and Anthony Goodwin, ended up quite superficial. And by that I mean they had no depth and their personalities and relationships were not explored well. Also, the pacing of the story was too simple and not well connected. Some scenes would follow each other without a good correlation because, again, I did not develop my ideas well enough and because I wanted to write scenes without necessarily connecting them all smoothly. It was also written in a time when I was not fluent in English (I don't pretend I am now but I believe I have improved since) and as a result, the first version is riddled with typos and grammatical errors, and let's not even talk about the inconsistencies. In other words, I fucking hate it.

In this new version of Unexpected, the plot has been developed and constructed better. Of course, the core remains the same. However, some elements regarding the twins have been added and their relationships with some characters of the Twilight Saga whom I did not develop enough in the former version were also explored. Irene and Anthony are now written in a way that puts them in the Twilight universe as if they were part of the original story. This also means that the chapters will be longer, but I believe you won't mind too much.

Lastly, I would like to give you a few heads up, especially to the new readers. The original characters are based on Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver (as you may have seen in the CAST part of this book). I'm a (huge) fan of Marvel and Harry Potter so there might be a few references to these franchises. After all, at the end of the end, this is fanfiction so let's still have a little bit of fun. Also, the first third of the book contains criticism of Bella for plot purposes. It might be uncomfortable for Kristen Stewart's fans or Bella Swan's fans, but this will improve, have no fear. The main character, Irene Goodwin, may also appear as annoying to some in the first few chapters, but it will also get better as the story goes.

Now, the important things being said, I hope that you will enjoy the new, re-written version of Unexpected. The first part covering the end of New Moon and the whole of Eclipse is already fully available on my account.
