"He's crashing Brett!" yelled Dawson from the back of the ambo. Brett was flying down the streets as fast as she could with the sirens going. She had to honk at the cars that would not move over. Her friend was dying.
"Ambo 61 to main we have a firefighter in serious condition. Noticeable head injuries along with possible internal chest injuries. Be advised the patient has crashed at least one time." Brett recalled all the information to the other side of radio line and waited for a response.
"How far out are you ambo 61?" The voice on the other line finally replied.
"About 5 minutes maybe less." She said as she blew through the next red light.
"Doctors have been advised and are prepared." Brett wanted to let out a breathe of gratitude for the quick response, but couldn't allow herself to. That was only the first step of helping out Severide. There was going to be a long road ahead of him. These past few months they have become good friends. After shift they would go to Molly's and hang out. Sylvie would have a few drinks while Severide had a little too much that Sylvie had to cut him off. She gave a little chuckle at the thought of them both walking down the sidewalk drunk and no sense of balance. Sylvie had to admit that hanging out with Severide was probably one of her favorite things to do after shift. They kept each other company.
Brett quickly snapped herself out of her thoughts once she parked the ambo at the emergency entrance of the hospital. She quickly hopped out of the ambo racing to the back to help Gabby. Once she opened the doors she saw Gabby on the brink of tears trying to save Severide. Seeing him in this condition left Sylvie frozen in her spot. Doctors ran out of the ER to come get him. She finally broke her trance when she heard her name get called out by Dawson.
"Brett! We need to get him into ER now!" Dawson yelled for her. She felt bad for the blonde paramedic. She could tell she was visibly shaken from what she had seen. Even though Sylvie may deny that there wasn't something between her and the lieutenant, it was obvious she has feelings for him.
"Sorry I just zoned out for a moment." She choked back a sob when she said it. Quickly they both along with the doctor and nurses raced down the hallway while Dawson told the doctor what happened on the ride over.
"What do we got?" the doctor asked.
"Firefighter. He's 34 was seriously injured on the job visible head injuries possible internal damage. He crashed once on the way and his vitals keep dropping." Dawson informed the doctor.
"Get him to OR now!" The doctor barked the rest of his orders to the nurses that were along with him. Dawson just stood there looking down the hallway where they took Severide. She thought about what she told Severide on the way over.

*Back on the ambo*
"Hey Severide you are going to be ok! I don't think you are going to give up this easily." Dawson kept trying to see if she could possibly get some type of response from him. "Shay wouldn't want you to give up just yet would she? Sylvie she also cares a lot for you you don't want to leave her either." Her eyes filled with tears at the thought of losing another member of the firehouse. Suddenly the sound that everyone dreads to hear sounded, she was losing him. No, she wasn't the only one losing him. All the people close to him were losing him.
Dawson did what no paramedic should ever do, panic. Usually on a call she is calm and trying to do her job. Not today. She thought of the times they both talked to each other after Shay's death trying to help each other through everything. She tried to forget the times that they may of yelled at each other, and thought of the friendlier times.

Dawson looked up towards the ceiling and whispered, "I'm so sorry Shay, I did my best." She was on the brink of tears but knew she had to keep it together. Kelly was going to be fine.
