*A week later*
"Sylvie hurry or we will be late for work today!" Kelly yelled up the stairs. Sylvie had let Kelly stay with her long because she enjoyed having his company around. Since Gabby moved out she was kinda lonely. Now she has a firefighter that has been out of work for a week and is getting antsy to get back.
"Kel, you realize we still have about half an hour till we actually have to be there right?" Sylvie chuckled at the fireman. He just couldn't wait to go back and save more lives. That was what she loved most about him. He didn't just do the job to be called a 'hero' he actually wanted to be a hero. She always loved this quote she heard from Steven Moffat, "Heroes important. Heroes tell us something about ourselves. History books tell us who we used to be. Documentaries tell us who we are now. Heroes tell us who we want to be." If every child saw Kelly in action they would want to become a hero like him one day.
She snapped out of her thoughts when she heard toast pop out of the toaster. Once she was done putting her hair up she headed downstairs to find the source of the toast popping. In the kitchen she found Kelly grabbing peanut butter and quickly spreading it on his toast. As she walked in she quickly grabbed a piece of toast of his plate and started eating it.
"Hey get your own breakfast." Kelly glared at her with a fun loving tone lacing his voice.
"I don't have time because you want to go to work so bad babe." She kissed him on the cheek and turned out to to get her jacket from the other room.
"You know, I'm really going to miss alone time with you." He had followed her into the other room, wrapped his arms around her waist a gently and pulled her closer to him. In return she put both of her hands on his chest and tilted her head backwards in order to see him more clearly.
"Don't worry we have after shift to focus on us more." Kelly smiled down at her and gently kissed her. Sylvie smiled into the kiss and gently pulled away to avoid a full out make out session that really would result in them being late for work. Kelly looked at her disappointed that the kiss has to end and she chuckled at him thinking that he was the one that didn't want to be late. "As much as I would've liked to have finished this, we have work to go do." Sylvie got out of Kelly's grasp and went to go get the keys.
"Are you ready for your first day back?" She opened the front door and glanced back at him.
"I was born ready." They both finally made it out of the door and drove towards the firehouse.
Once they arrived he hopped out of the car. Sylvie soon followed behind when a thought popped into her head.
"Kel!" She yelled towards him before he went to the door to open it up.
"What's up?" He gave her a questioning look followed by worry.
"When are we going to tell everyone about us exactly?" She realized that since both of them haven't been at work for over a week it might of raised eyebrows, but no one knew they actually went the distance to be in a relationship now.
"Hm, how about we wait awhile since it's our first day back."
"Ok sounds good. Let's go in then." Kelly then opened the door and Sylvie went in first and was welcomed with a bone crushing hug. Her hug was from the one and only Gabby.
"I'm so glad you're back!! I cannot work with your temporary replacement anymore! Even he asks me if I'm single one more time someone better watch out!" She kept on rambling on and on to Sylvie as Kelly headed towards the squad table.
"Glad to have you back lieutenant" Tony stood up and gave him a handshake and the rest of the firehouse came out to see what everyone was up to.
"Hey Kelly!" Hermann came up to him and as Kelly went for a handshake Hermann went for a hug. It wasn't something he expected, but he was surely glad to be back.
"Hey Hermann! How's Cindy's and the kids doing?" Kelly questioned him.
"Same old same old. Nothing new." Hermann was always the same to. He stayed his bubbly self and Kelly never wanted that to change. As soon as the party started Boden came in.
"Severide, good to have you back and ready to go." Boden shook Kelly's hand and patted him on the shoulder.
"Thanks Chief I'm glad to-" he was cut of by the firehouse alarm.
"Looks like you're back at it now." Chief chuckled at him. As Kelly started to head into the locker he looked around and saw that the place stayed the same from the last time he saw it. He felt a small hand gentle touch his shoulder.
     "You ready?" Sylvie gently said.
"Together?" Kelly said. He put his hand out for her to take.
"Always" she gently took his hand in response and they both headed towards the locker room to get changed for their first call back.
