I tried knocking on his door but Yuu wasn't answering. He might be in class right now. I was about to leave when Yuu finally opened the door.

Yuu: Good morning, Harumi, do you need something?

Harumi: Oh, Yuu, good morning. It's nothing. Don't mind me. You seem pretty busy.

Yuu: No, what is it? You can ask me anything.

Harumi: I was just wondering if you can teach me how to read this book. Um...only...if you have some time to spare. You see, Akihiko just left me...

Yuu: That guy...It's okay I have some free time right now. I'll teach you how to read it.

Yuu let me in and we started studying. He showed me what the symbols meant and how to translate it. It was difficult at first, but once you got the hang of it, it was pretty easy to read.

An hour had already passed.

Harumi: I see...so that's how you read it. You're a great help, Yuu. Thank you so much!

Yuu: You were a great student.

Harumi: Now, I have to practice casting fire ball. I'll go right ahead to the training grounds.

Yuu: Alright, I'm going to class then. I'll check up on you once I get out.

Harumi: You don't have to. I don't want to waste more of your time.

Yuu: If it's for you, it's not a waste of time.

Yuu was soft spoken and taught me patiently--unlike Akihiko. He caressed the back of my head and smiled. I waved good bye and left.

________

It was already afternoon when I walked back to the training grounds. I immediately started casting the spell. I kept casting the spell but my fireball was still so small. It wasn't getting any bigger. I was doing this for about three hours straight. My uniform was soaked with sweat, and I wasn't even improving. I kept telling myself to focus.

Before I knew it, I started getting dizzy and light headed. I suddenly lost my balance and fell down.

Yuu: HARUMI! Hey, Harumi! Are you okay? Harumi! He depleted all his mana...this is not good.

Yuu dashed towards me and was able to catch me before I hit the ground. He then carried me to my room.

_____________

When Yuu was about to enter my room, he ran into Akihiko.

Akihiko: Yuu! What are you doing with Harumi?! WHAT HAPPENED?!

Yuu: He was just exhausted. What did you make him do? He pushed himself to his limit. You know for a fact that he is not from a family of wizards. His magic capacity is not yet fully developed. What a careless and irresponsible mentor you are!

Akihiko: GIVE HIM TO ME! I'm the one responsible for him.

Akihiko took me by force from Yuu.

Yuu: I'm giving you this one and only warning. If you don't take care of Harumi, I have to report you, and I'll ask Sebastian to assign Harumi to my care.

Akihiko: Do whatever you want, loser.

Yuu: Fine.

____________

I started getting back my consciousness and becoming aware of my surroundings. I passed out while training. According to Akihiko's assignment, I had to practice casting that spell for four hours, which I did. Well, I tried.

I guessed my body wasn't used to using magic. I pushed myself too hard.

As I open my eyes, I am already laid down in my bed, and I can see that Akihiko is preparing some food.

Akihiko: So, you're awake? Here, eat up.

Harumi: Tha...nks, Akihiko. Were you the one that carried me all the way here? I'm really sorry for the inconvenience...You didn't have to...

I thought Akihiko was cold hearted and didn't care about anything or anyone. I guessed there was still a sliver of kindness left in him.

Akihiko: Yuu...um...carried you here but I took you from him. That guy...he always try to butt in to my business.

Akihiko made a serious face when he mentioned Yuu. He instantly became annoyed.

Harumi: Well, thanks anyway for taking care of me. I should thank Yuu later. By the way, you don't have to answer this if you don't want to...why do you hate Yuu so much? He's a really nice guy.

Akihiko: Forget about that guy, and it's none of your business.

Akihiko got more irritated. I should have not asked that question.

Harumi: Oh...okay. I'm done eating. Thank you for the meal. I'm going to wash up now.

Akihiko: Fine.

I washed up and got ready for bed. I felt so exhausted as if almost all my energy was drained out of me.

Minutes later, I took my pillow, and I was headed to Yuu's room.

Akihiko: WHERE ARE YOU GOING?

Harumi: Um...I'm going to sleep at Yuu's room.

Akihiko: Why? You have your own room and your own bed. What else do you want?

Harumi: I can't sleep...um...alone.

Akihiko: What are you--a toddler? Also, I'm here with you in the room.

Akihiko was getting annoyed, and I was even embarrassed to say that to him. He just laughed and started becoming sarcastic.

Harumi: Nothing, it's...hard to explain. I'm leaving.

Akihiko abruptly grabbed my arm.

Akihiko: NO! You are staying here. Don't go and see Yuu. If you want, you can sleep on my bed with me.

I didn't know what he was trying to do. Now, I felt obligated to stay since The Great Akihiko was offering his bed to me.

Also, I didn't think he would let me leave anyway. He was already angry.

I was hesitant to lay down on his bed but I did.

I could feel the awkwardness.

Akihiko: Here is our barrier. Don't cross my side. GOOD NIGHT!

He put a pillow in between us.

Harumi: Um...okay...good night...

Akihiko: One more thing, I will be training with you all day tomorrow, so I can properly teach you. I was pressured by something yesterday...

Harumi: Okay...

I was disappointed that I didn't get to sleep with Yuu. His presence made me feel as if I was home. He was gentle and comforting.

In contrast to Yuu, Akihiko is always mad, angry and irritated. He's the total opposite of Yuu. I know that he is one of the best students here...and Akihiko is also good looking. It boggles my mind as to why he vents all his negative energy on to me. I don't want to be corrupted, and I need to stay positive.

Yes! That's it...only think happy thoughts. I'm already falling asleep...
