You continued to hug Boogie Bot and Bunzo Bunny, almost feeling scared to let them go again. "I... I'm glad you two are okay." You said, struggling to find words in your throat before leaning back and holding the both of them by their shoulders, "What happened after the train crash? It feels like it's been forever since we've seen each other."
Boogie Bot and Bunzo looked at each other before Bunzo began to clarify, "Well. After the train crash, most of us were taken down here by Catnap and the toys that followed him. But we were just able to escape before we were taken to the Prototype." "What about the others? Huggy, Mommy, Candy Cat, and Bron?" You asked, sensing the air growing thicker. "Mommy Long Legs and Huggy did their best to cause a distraction so we could get away... but Bron..." Bunzo started before beginning to choke on his words.
"We spotted the three of 'em in the caves outta the Prison and dragged 'em here, mate." Came an Australian voice as you turned and saw a massive toy that resembled one of the Nightmare Critters. "Well... thanks for saving them, at least." You said as you lowered your head. "I’m just hopin’ you’re here to do the right thing and lend a hand, mate. I’m Maggie Mako, by the way." The Shark said as you took another look at her.
She was clearly around the size of Kick and Crafty, but had several wounds bandaged over. She also had a shark tooth necklace around her neck and a bag strapped to her back, a finned tail swishing between her legs. You could also tell that she'd gotten into a few fights with the dried blood in splotches over her body. You then looked over to Kissy, who was being led into an area that appeared to be a sort of infirmary, where Kick, Dogday and Catnap were resting. Some of the smaller toys were also helping to bandage their wounds.
You then got up as you walked over to Dogday, who was leaning up against the sleeping Catnap. "Angel! I'm glad you made it safely." Dogdy greeted you as you sat back down across from him. "Right back at you, Dogday. How's... you know who doing." You asked as you gestured to the purple cat, watching as his ear twitched. "He appears to be managing. There was some slight panic when we first showed up, but Doey and I were able to convince most of the toys that he wasn't dangerous anymore." Dogday explained as he looked across the room to where some other toys were looking across the room in suspicion.
"As long as you guys are okay. I'm going to take a look around Safe Haven." You said as you got up. "Don't forget to rest, yourself." Dogday said as you walked over to the center area of Safe Haven. It was brightly decorated with drawings on the walls, and little forts set up that reminded you of pillow forts you would make as a kid. You also saw several different toys ranging from Huggys and Kissys, to Smiling Critters and even a few Nightmare Critters. Overall, the place did indeed feel safe, but there was still an air of sadness that hung around the area.
There were murals depicting several toys being lost to Catnap's Red Smoke, and you even found a small memorial site in one of the side rooms, where you decided to take a moment and pray for the safety of all the toys in Safe Haven, but also for Huggy and Mommy Long Legs. You then walked out of the room, past a mountian of batteries that seemed to act as the power source for Safe Haven, and began looking around for Doey. "Over here..." Poppy called out to you, prompting you to head over and inspect Kissy.
She was still in pretty bad shape, but bandages had been wrapped around her arm that was still in a sling, and she appeared to look more calm than before. "What is it, Poppy?" You asked as you looked down at the Doll who was standing by. She took a breath as she said, "I didn't know it had gotten this bad... I... I need to make this right. What I said, back on the elevator. It's true. The orphans weren't killed during the Hour of Joy. They were taken. They're below, in the labs, the Prototype's home. They're alive. But sleeping."
"If we're going to get them out, stop the Prototype, and save everyone else, we're going to need a plan." You said as you knelt down to better talk with Poppy. "Right. They're with HIM, and HE knows we're HERE." Poppy continued, "I have a plan, but I can't do it alone. The Red Smoke you redirected from Playcare. It's an accelerant. All it needs is high pressure and a little spark." "And Boom, right?" You guessed as Poppy nodded.
