Fate

Chapter 1- In which he returns

~~Unknown POV~~. (Before the storm)

Sometimes fate is cruel, bad things happen to us and we have no control over it, although we always say if we had a chance to change it all, we would. In a heartbeat.

The thing is fate is inevitable, you cant escape it. No matter how hard you try. And the past? You cant change that either. After it's over with, it's set in stone.

I realize that now more than ever as I'm staring down the barrel of a 45 and clutching the one I love in my arms. I never really meant for things to turn out like this but it seems like life has been rather cruel to me; more so in the past couple of months than ever before. But would I change it? No. Would I do something stupid in the next few minutes, stupid enough to jeopardize my entire future? Yes.

These were the thoughts running through my head before I made my final decision. Suddenly the piercing gunshot echoed throughout the dark eerie night causing a ringing sensation to flood my ears, and a bullet to pierce through my body. I collapsed onto the floor, crimson making a pool in the creaky mahogany wood beneath me.

I heard the one I loved screaming threats at the man who shot me then kneeling and crying beside me, the last thing I felt was a teardrop from my loved one running down my face. I was then moved into the lap of my loved one, I could hear the faint sounds of sirens in the distance, I was dreading the worst, it was too late for me. Then everything went black....

~~~~~~~~Nine Months Before~~~~~~~~

"Come on Selena, Get up already!" Yelled my mom from downstairs.

I groaned into my pillow, and clutched it behind my head attempting to block the world out, and then I got lost in my thoughts and worries of the day.

I knew what today was, it was the day I've been dreading for the past two years. But I couldn't tell my mom that, she didn't know a single bad thing that's happened in my life.

A few minutes passed and my mom marched up the stairs and attempted to drag me out of bed. I clutched the metal part of my bed, and held on for dear life.

"Mom please no I don't want to go to school, not today just please let me skip." I begged still gripping my bed post.

"Honey I know you hate school but you have to go, whatever is going on it will get better I promise " She said in a comforting tone.

I felt like crying, cause I don't see this getting better any time soon.

I've counted down the days until I have to face him again. My ex best friend who turned into a bully, the one who made my life a living hell.

The one who made me the way I am today.

"Selena!" My mom shouted, snapping me out of my thoughts.

I groaned finally getting up out of bed and getting ready for school.

Thankfully it was Wednesday and the week was almost over. Only two days to go. I smiled at the thought.
