"dude, let's do something." i sat up a tiny bit from the couch that me and shawn were laying on, being lazy as ever.

"dude, like what?" he joked with the same name, as a slight smile grew on my lips.

"i don't fucking know, that's why i'm asking you idiot." i hit the back of his head playfully causing him to groan in pain.

"y/n! ugh i hate when you do that." he said while rubbing the area i has hit him.

"you love me though." I smirked back as he rolled his eyes.

"holy crap, i have an idea." he suddenly spoke up, sitting up completely now.

he grabbed my hand pulling me up off the couch as i whined the whole walk because of me being a lazy piece of shit and not wanting to even walk.

he stood in the back of his yard, looking up at the old treehouse we would go in as kids.

"remember when we were little and we would hide up here from everything?" he reminisced more than asked as his eyes fell to mine now.

"we would never come down, we even spent nights up there." i smiled at the memories.

"aw what about when one of us would need to talk to the other so we would used our walkie-talkies and met up at midnight here?" he smiled down at me, a cheesy grin showing up.

shawn and i have been best friends since we were about 4 years olds. growing up as neighbors was the key factor for our insanely close friendship.
we're basically each other's ride or die.

"this all too cute for me." i jokingly chuckled as shawn gestured to climb the ladder.

he went first, me following close behind.

"holy shit there's still a lock on this." he laughed as he peered down at me, stopping his climbing trying to unlock it.

i instantly cracked up as the code came into my mind. "shawn, oh my fuck, it's 420."

"you've got to be kidding me." he rolled his eyes, surely enough unlocking the lock with that exact code.

as we both came to the top, a sly grin came across my face, "nope, remember the freshman kept teasing us about it and acting like they were the shit so we wanted to be cool sixth graders."

"wow, now i remember. here we are, still lame, seniors." he laughed, shaking his head before sitting down on the edge with me copying his actions, our legs dangling over the edge.

"it's crazy." i said out of no where, most likely catching him off guard.

"hm?"

"the sunset, i don't think we ever realized how perfect this view is."

"i mean yeah it's great, but there's kinda something like a million times more perfect."

"oh really? what's that?"

"hm well it's a person. a girl actually. she has this killer smile that makes a whole country light up. her stupid jokes that make me laugh anyways. her sassy attitude that you wouldn't see coming from such a genuine person. most importantly though, her personality is literally perfect. i don't know, she's just perfect i guess." he finished with a sly grin.

"wowza, who's the girl?" i asked, dumbfounded.

"you fucking idiot. it's you, loser." directly after he finished saying that, he smashed his lips onto mine.

don't take this lightly when i tell you fireworks were flying everywhere. it was fucking fourth of july up in here, no joke. i was giddy and on top of the world all at once. i never wanted this to end.

shawn broke the kiss, not going far, obviously holding back a large grin.

he spoke up, "you have no idea how long i've wanted to do that."
