i was peppering with my teammate and super close friend, ally, as we were warming up for the varsity championship game.

it was an away game so we weren't on home turf, but we were determined to win anyway.

i noticed a group of boys, about 20 of them, make their way over to the bleachers to cheer on their school.

one of them really stood out to me at least, but i shook it off needing to stay focused.

ally came up to me when my coach told us to get ready for coach on 3 (basically passing warmup if you don't play volleyball)

"that dude is totally checking you out." she smirked nodding her head in the direction of the one i had noticed the most out of all them.

he was pretty tall, a cute little quiff for hair, wearing some jeans and a maroon obey sweatshirt. he was laughing with all his friends as they pushed him around as if they were teasing him for paying too much attention to me.

a small smile came evident on my face as ally smirked even more and smacked my ass, going to left back position.

after warmups, the down ref called for captains as that my cue to head over.

my coach, the other caption, sally, and me met him as he went over the rules and a bunch of shit i've heard a million times. as he was flipping the coin to determine who served and who got serve receive, i caught a glance of that kid, since we were basically in front of all the boys now. he nodded his head up like the bruh pose and winked causing me to roll my eyes and smile before going back to the captains meeting.

after, our coach told us the starting positions, me starting left front, but moving to my actual position, middle blocker, after each serve since we had serve.

we got on the court and i went around to high five all the girls once more before the set started.

the game was almost over with. my team lost the first set, won the second, and now we are at the third with 16 to 15 with us winning. all we need is one more point to win the game since you have to win by at least two.

sally was up to serve and as usual, the group of boys stomped around and banged on the walls, trying to distract the server.

fortunately though, she got it over as the libero passed it, the setter having to run after so that the third ball over was free. i quickly got off the net in my off step approach from the net, as ally passed the ball. i called one numerous of times for the set as i ran with the ball, my setter, melanie, setting a perfect one for me to slam down right on the ten foot line.

my whole team cheered as loud as we could and everyone got on the court as we were laughing and cheering still, us all falling over because of congratulating each other after winning the championship game.

we were all laughing even harder as we noticed we were the ground, before we all rolled over to get up. some of us even flipped off the guys because they made so much annoying noise.

after we took pictures with holding a one up to represent us winning first place in our league.

i was walking down the school hallway with my three best friends on the team, as a couple of the guys walked in the opposite direction, that one special guy in that smaller group too.

i didn't think much of it till he locked eyes with mine and smiled, jogging over to me and stopping right in front of me to say something. he stuck his hand out as i did the same, him grasping my hand first. it was pretty awkward, seeing as teenagers usually don't shake hands, till i felt a piece of paper in my own hands now.

i read the paper seeing his number and name.

the boy named shawn apparently, leaned in closer to me before whispering in my ear, "currently wondering if you fuck as good as you play."
