the teenage girl lay on her bed, unable to find a peaceful slumber with the rain constantly pouring onto the window.

usually, rain helped her sleep. but with the lightning strikes in the background, she feared something much worse.

she hadn't seen her boyfriend, shawn, in almost a whole month and it was driving her insane.

she just missed everything about him. his touch, his lips, his voice... everything about him.

she craved for his love to return. little did she know however, her wish would soon be granted.

the teenage boy they called shawn, lazily walked through the dead airport, trying to find his baggage claim area. it was merely 1:27 a.m on a wednesday, so no stranger was keeping him company.

all he wanted was her. he needed to see her smile, her blush.... her everything.

he missed her more than words could describe. he knew his manager hated him doing this. dropping everything just to go see some girl. but she wasn't just a girl to him. she was his everything.

shawn jogged up the front steps of her home. the girls father was away on a business trip, that he already knew.

however, the girls mother was perfectly aware of the situation. she loved shawn immensely and knew that this surprise would be good for both of them. so, she absentmindedly agreed to wait up for him, so the women's daughter and her beloved boyfriend could finally hold each other after so long.

instead of ringing the doorbell to the family's abode, in fear of waking his girlfriend, shawn searched for her mother's contact in his cellphone, coming across it in only a matter of seconds. he quickly pressed the number, the familiar ring tone only erupting in his ear for a few seconds before the middle aged woman's voice sounded through his ear.

"hi sweetie, how far are you?" the woman asked with much urgency.

"oh well i just came up but i thought it would better to call so i didn't wake y/n up with the loud doorbell." he spoke kindly and respectfully, something y/n always appreciated.

"oh of course dear, i'll be right there!" his girlfriend's mother ended the call, but before he could react, the front door swung open.

the woman immediately engulfed him in a giant hug, seeing as shawn was like a son to her in a way too. shawn hugged back just as much, but there was still only one thing he needed to hug more. and she was only upstairs.

"ah shawn, i'm so glad you decided to do this!" she absentmindedly yelled, quickly hushing herself realizing her sleeping daughter was only upstairs.

shawn laughed his million dollar smile before whispering back the same, "it's so good to see you mrs. y/l/n."

the woman smiled at his politeness, "she's going crazy without you, ya know. hate to see her like this but it just signifies that you guys really are in love huh?" she mumbles more towards the end as shawn's heart flutters at the last sentence.

"i'm going crazy without her as well." he beams down at the woman, her smile only growing at his words.

"oh well, you didn't come all this way to see me! go surprise your love!" she whisper yelled, shoving shawn upstairs in the process.

he laughed once more before turning around slightly, now on the staircase. "m'am, is it okay if i, uh-"

"sleep in the same bed? sure thing bud, but no funny business." the woman cracks a smile, now sauntering towards the kitchen.

shawn's heart flutters in anticipation. his love for her was immense, more vast than all seven seas. he missed her immensely and he was finally getting to see his soulmate after so long.

he came across her bedroom door, spotting it out of all the other ones because it was the one he came into the most. although he hadn't been at her house in over a month, due to touring, he still knew it like the back of his hand.

the door was slightly cracked open as he could hear rustling. he peeked into the room before fully opening it, seeing his babygirl laying on the bed, tossing and turning.

his heart shifted in his chest, seeing his most precious thing before his eyes. he sighs seeing her awake, but ultimately decides it was better than her being in a slumber so she could actually know he was here for her.

he finally opens the door all the way whispering in a hoarse voice, "babygirl?"

the young girls eyes immediately widen, sensing her most beloved of people before her. she rolls over so she can face him, tears welling up in her eyes simply because seeing after so long was almost too much to handle. she jumps up out of her warm bed, rushing over to hug her baby boy.

her arms wrap around his neck as he pulls at her waist, ultimately hoisting her up from her thighs, her legs wrapping tightly around his waist.

the moment is beautifully breathtaking, two long lost loves finally meeting after so long away from each other. shawn's smile is unable to leave his face as the girls happy tears stream down her face as her smile keeps growing and growing.

the girl quietly whispers in his ear, "i missed you so much baby boy."

she brings her face out of the crook of his neck, as they lock eyes before both leaning in and connecting their lips together. the kiss was long awaited so it did get a tad bit heated but they both knew now was not the time to act out of lust. both of them pulled away at the same time, shawn resting his forehead on hers.

"oh but doll, i missed you so much more."
