CASEY

Wow. That's all I could think.

He knew why my brother said these things.

"So here's what happened... The story goes like this." He begins to say, "there was this guy who really liked his best friend. But he was leaving soon. So the night before he left, his best friends brother decided to talk to him. Apparently the brother could just tell that he liked his sister.

So they talked. He said he could tell that he like her. The guy said 'yeah it's true'

They had this long talk about the girl. How he needed to treat her right. How beautiful she was. How truly amazing she was."

Blane looks at me searching my eyes. Then he speaks again.

"How much in love with her he was..."

Was that's the key word in this situation. Was. He doesn't love me. Even though I love him. He doesn't love me back anymore.

I felt my heart tear a little when realization hit me.

"Then he told the guy to take good care of the girl if anything would ever happen to him. And do you wanna know what the guy said?"

I nodded my head a little.

"He said 'the girl I love is the girl I hate doing this for. And I hate that I have to make this promise because of something happens to me, then I can't take care of her. But I'll make this promise because I know that I could never leave her, stop loving her or ever let her be in danger.' And do you something else?"

My mind was curious. Did he really say all this?

"The guy was right. He's still in love with that girl."

My heart flutters. It's literally gone. It doesn't exist anymore. Because at this time, he stole it. And what's really scary is that I don't want him to return it.

"Blake..." Well time for it to let it out, "if I told you I loved you, would you believe me?"

The look in his eyes makes my stomach erupt. The Fourth of July makes an appearance again.

"Say it again." He says.

"I love you." I tell him.

He closes his eyes in pleasure and I love the fact that I can make him feel this way.

"I love you Casey."

"Hmm say it again." I mockingly tell him.

"I am fucking in love with you Casey."

I love the way the words come from his mouth. My head spins at the way his dreamy voice fills my ears.

I feel like I have Carson to thank for this.

If I hadn't been thinking about his words, I wouldn't be here, Blake wouldn't have confessed. I wouldn't have confessed. And I wouldn't be leaning in attempting to kiss him.

To my greatest joy, Blake leans in also and our lips meet in the middle.

This kiss is different.

It's sweet.

It's slow.

It's love.

It doesn't seem right to think of an emotion being explained through a kiss, but that's how I feel right now.

I feel like this kiss is expressing the love we have for each other. The love since we were young. The love we never told each other about.

Our love.

"I love you" I tell him as we break our kiss to take a breath.

"Good, because I love you." And then he kisses me again.
