No matter how hard you try you can't find anything to say. Well, anything that would make sense. Possible questions and inquiries are buzzing around in your head like angry mosquitoes, but you're wise enough not to say any aloud. You stay silent, your gaze shifting from Paul's face to your scuffed school shoes and back again.
"Do you need help?" Paul asks politely.
You don't say a word.
"Would you like to come and sit with me and the other lads?" he offers.
You stare at him, your eyes widening to the size of dinner plates. You feel your jaw dropping open until it's practically resting on the carpet. Paul McCartney has asked you to sit with him and the other Beatles! It's a fangirl's dream come true! You still don't speak, but you nod enthusiastically.
"Wonderful!" says Paul. He gestures for you to follow him.
The two of you stroll down the corridor of the now moving train. You have to keep pinching yourself to make sure this isn't just a wonderful dream. It takes a while for you to accept the fact that this is reality - you really are in the presence of Paul McCartney! It's unbelievable.
"Here we are!" Paul cries triumphantly. He stops outside of a cabin door. You stop too, dangerously close to passing out from excitement. Paul opens the sliding door with a flourish, revealing the other passengers that are sitting inside. Your eyes light up like two stars.
There, right in front of you, are the other three Beatles!
They look up at you and Paul, and they smile warmly. John even gives you a cheeky wave, wiggling all of his fingers. Ringo grins at you, his bright blue eyes shining. George nods distractedly. He's more interested in finishing his sandwich than talking to you.
Paul sits down across from John. You stay lurking in the doorway, unsure of what to do. There are two empty seats: one beside Paul and one between Ringo and George. Where are you going to sit?
If you want to sit between Ringo and George, go to Chapter Ten.
If you want to sit beside Paul, go to Chapter Eleven.
