"The black car looks reasonably safe," you say as you walk towards it.

Before opening the door and getting in you gently tap on the window. The driver jumps, startled by your sudden intrusion. He looks a bit annoyed at first, then he sees the band hovering behind you. He smiles warmly and gestures for you all the climb in.

The driver takes you and the lads straight to the television studio, and he even goes the long way around to avoid any unwanted crowds. Paul keeps thanking him and insists he doesn't have to go to such limits, but the driver just laughs and says it's the least he can do.

"Yeah, Paul, stop being such a bum sucker," John mutters, staring out the window.

You giggle. John grins brightly at you then goes back to watching the scenery roll by. You quite like John; he's very funny and kind, not to mention extremely handsome. You wonder if he likes you a little bit. He must do if he was so enthusiastic to have you along on this mad journey to the TV studio. You edge a little closer towards him, your shoulder right up against his.

"Right, sirs and madams," the driver announces, "Here we are!"

He turns into the alleyway behind the studio building. This seems like a good idea because you noticed yet another huge crowd of screaming girls around the front. The driver parks the car a short distance away from the backstage door.

"Good luck on television, lads," he says, grinning.

"Thanks again," says Paul, clambering out of the car and stretching his legs. George and Ringo quickly follow him, nodding politely at the driver as they depart. You and John stay behind for a moment.

"Who's this lovely lady?" the driver asks, looking more at John than you.

"She's with us today," John replies, "Aren't you, darling?"

You don't say anything - you just nod, your cheeks burning bright red. John takes you by the hand and pulls your out of the car, gabbling a few words words of gratitude to the lovely driver. He waves at the lads, blows you a small kiss, then drives off.

"He was nice," Paul says, heading towards the door.

"Very nice," you say. You try to follow him but John still has a hold on your hand.

"Hey," he whispers, "Come with me."

"But shouldn't we all stick together?" you say, glancing over at the other three lads. They've already disappeared through the backstage door, seemingly unaware that you and John have hung back.

"We'll catch up with them later," John says dismissively. He tugs at your arm. "Coming?"
