Second Chance

Chapter 2

Selena was indeed late for work once she had got Nick his coffee. She was eleven minutes late for work but as soon as she mentioned to her boss that a handsome stranger had covered here in coffee she let Selena off. Yes, Selena did think the guy she ran into was handsome. He had his hair buzz cut but she could see the waves in his hair that signalled he must have curls once his hair grew out.

Selena’s boss was lovely, she helped Selena settle right in and even let her work on her first customer who only wanted a simple haircut, but still, she had managed to cut someone’s hair.

It was around five pm when Selena clocked out and headed home. Once she entered she could smell Jennifer’s favourite perfume and a pungent smell of hair spray. Jennifer then rounded the corner in a green dress that hugged her curves perfectly and showed her cleavage as the green dress had a slit down the middle of the chest showing the curves of her breasts.

“Where are you off to?” Selena asked as she slipped off her jacket and hung it in the closet.

“Don’t you mean, where are we off to?” Jennifer smirked. “Your outfit is on your bed. We’re going to celebrate our first days of work.” Jennifer added when she noticed Selena’s confused look.

“Oh, sweet,” Selena grinned. She headed off into her bedroom to find a bright pink dress lying across her bed.

Nick finally clocked out of his work at half eight. It was a long day seeing as he missed days of work the last few weeks due to the divorce and Isabelle wanting to take everything she could. Nick just couldn’t understand how Isabelle could go from sweet and caring to a manipulative bitch in just over a month. Nick gave his life to her and then when she wanted to split up, she still wanted all that Nick achieved.

He locked up angrily after his thoughts trailed to his ex-wife of eight hours and waited for Josh to pick him up. When Josh finally arrived Nick slipped into the car and sighed. “Where are we off to then?” Nick asked.

“You were the one who wanted to go out. Where do you want to go?” Josh asked, gearing into drive and heading off down the street.

“Anywhere with alcohol,” Nick mumbled sullenly.

Josh held back his sigh, maybe a drunken night would be a good idea for Nick, let him loosen up and have fun!

“Jen, it’s getting late.” Selena sighed as Jen dropped down another tray full of vodka shots.

“Selena, it’s only half nine! Lighten up and let’s get drunk.” Jen grinned, handing Selena three shots off the tray.

Selena rolled her eyes but did as Jen said. Selena wasn’t at work tomorrow but she did want to scope out the area, see where the best places to be were. As Jen counted down to one Selena downed her shots and let the alcohol take her.

“Come on then, I’ve found the perfect girls.” Josh smiled as he downed his second beer. Nick downed his drink and then stood up.

“You’re good at scoping the place out.” Nick chuckled, following Josh over to where two girls were.

“Mind if we join you?” Josh asked the blonde as she looked up, her eyes trailing all over his body which made Josh smirk.

“Sure thing, we need to liven this night up.” She grinned, moving over so Josh could sit down.

Once Josh had sat down Nick was able to look at the other girl who was in a very bright pink dress. When his eyes met hers he smirked and sat down. “It’s nice to meet you again.”

“You two know each other?” Jen and Josh asked simultaneously.

“Yeah, I ran into him this morning.” Selena admitted, looking at Nick.

“Yeah, and she ended up wearing my coffee.” Nick smirked, winking at Selena. His smirk widened when he saw Selena’s cheeks turn the same colour as her dress.
