10 - Unlucky Times

Wiley appeared next to me as I reentered the pack lands.

He made a face and walked to my left. ‘Sooo how was your chats? Did you have any luck with those law breakers?’

I sighed and shook my head. ‘Only one is a law breaker like I told you. And I guess you can call what happened luck. I just don’t know it its good or not. I’m still on square one at this point. But once I find my mate, I’ll have back up when I head home.’

Wiley chuckled. ‘Well I’d say it’s better than going alone.’

I nodded and smirked. ‘True, but it doesn’t help me right now. I still need my mate if I want that purpled eyed wolf to help me.’

Wiley shook his head and snorted. ‘So he wasn’t your mate? That sucks.’

I nodded. ‘No kidding. But he is strange. I got a question. How are you for sure if someone is your mate when you meet them?’

Wiley looked at the ground. ‘Honestly I’m not sure. I haven’t found mine. Why do you think I’m always hanging with you? Anyways I hear that you don’t always know or sometimes only one can tell.’

I sighed. ‘Dammit. So I could’ve met my mate and never knew it?’

Wiley nodded and looked up at me. ‘But once they have seen each other in both forms, then you can tell for sure.’

I nodded slowly. ‘So that means anyone that I’ve met in my wolf could be my mate.’

Wiley nodded and sighed. ‘Yep. Maybe you should try that one wolf again in your human.’

I shook my head. ‘Nah, Dante is a bit odd. I don’t know if he’d be my mate.’

Wiley looked at me sharply. ‘Dante is it? Any girl should fall for a bad boy name like that.’

I laughed. ‘Yeah I guess. His name was Dante Scar. Defiantly the bad boy type. Plus he is as black as you can get.’

Wiley laughed this time. ‘Dam girl and you said he may not be your type? Then what is your type?’

I looked at Wiley and he bowed his head in embarrassment.

I chuckled. ‘I like sweet guys who know how to treat a girl. But I’ve had a bad past with guys. Course it was always them getting hurt. That’s why I have the issue with Matthew.’

Wiley’s head snapped up. ‘So is he an ex? IS he the reason for you being here?’

I sighed and shook my head again. ‘Well let me explain since you haven’t heard yet.’

I told him everything up to that moment. Even about the agreements with Tomas and Nime.

When I was finished Wiley just shook his head. ‘Dam, all this over a few guys. It’s upsetting that you worked with Tomas but I get why. I hope he gets what’s coming to him. Karma should have a big ol’ ball of pain for that asshole. But not his family. They don’t deserve it.’

I laughed. ‘Well I’m grateful to all of them. And hopefully I can find my mate so Dante will join me.’

Wiley sighed. ‘I really think you met him in your human. I truly think that he may be the one.’

I shook my head. ‘I doubt it. Here I’ll make you a deal. I’ll look around for another week and then I’ll meet him in my human. And if he doesn’t come or if you’re wrong then YOU have to help me look for my mate.’

Wiley nodded. ‘I accept.’

Just then we got to the pack house. I yawned and said bye to Wiley. Then I went up to my room and went to bed.
