~*Tiffany’s POV*~

The next morning I get up and find Wiley waiting for me in the hall. “Let’s go out and have breakfast. Mom doesn’t cook on Thursday.”

I roll my eyes. “Sure, as long as it doesn’t mean getting beaten to a pulp again.”

Wiley frowns. “Yeah. Let’s avoid that. Follow me.”

We both leave and head to a town nearby. Wiley picks a cozy dinner and we take a booth. The waitress comes up and sneers at me as I recognize her.

“So you’re here again. And with an Omega. And my, you look pitiful for someone who claimed to be an alpha. What happened? Daddy take away your play toy?”

I growl. “For your information, I was an Alpha and now I am on a mission to prove that I have what it takes. I am an Omega now and Wiley is a very good friend and while you are a stuck up wolf who needs to act right.”

The waitress smiles evilly. “Omega now huh? Well you better watch yourself girly. You’re not marked anymore and that attitude will get you in a lot of trouble. Especially when you’re talking to someone who out ranks you. I will have a human serve you. Only they are able to serve ones as low as yourself.”

The girl walks off making me want to snap her head off.

Wiley sighs and shakes his head. “Victoria likes to start things and not finish them. And she is only one rank over us anyways. Border patrol wolf. She works here to help watch who enters the lands. But the humans here are very nice to me because I am a regular.”

I nodd and we wait to be served.

Later after we have our food Wiley talks again. “So how long do you think you will be an Omega?”

I shrug. “I was a rogue for a few weeks. I think maybe a month and a half. It was hard to keep track of the days as they passed.”

Wiley nodds. “So it may be a few weeks before you’re promoted. Or even longer.”

I sigh. “Yeah. It’s going to be hard since I can’t be alone for too long since Dante never marked me.”

Wiley frowns. “Well I never said it had to be your mate that marked you.”

I laugh as I realize what he means. “Only one that’s going to mark me is Dante and that is when he gets off his ass and acts like a mate.”

Wiley shrugs. “Don’t get mad at me if anything happens then. You never know what could happen.”

I roll my eyes. “I should be fine.”

Wiley sighs but falls silent. We finish the meal and I end up going home because Wiley gets a few chores.

Over the next week life goes by quickly. I start doing chores and seeing firsthand how lazy the pack is and how bad the Omegas are treated.

The middle of my second week, Dante is supposed to visit later to give me a message from my dad.

But I am busy cleaning a house for a pack fighter and his girlfriend around noon. As I am picking up the trash in the house a growl from behind me makes me jump. But when I turn around I find the fighter, John.

John smirks at me as I stand up with the trash can. “Almost done Tiffany?”

I frown. “Sort of. Just picking up the tables now. Then I need to go home to see my mate.”

John just shakes his head. “I don’t believe you. I doubt you would have a mate to be so neglectful as to not mark you.”

I swallow. “What does it matter to you? You have a girlfriend who is your mate don’t you.”
