Holding hands walking into the marriage counselor office,my body got tense.I didn't know how to feel or think.Today might be the day I really found out how Lauren feels about our marriage and I don't think I'm ready for that.
We walk to the receptionist desk seeing a young girl on the computer.She look up with a smile on her face.
"Good morning,how can I help you",She spoke.
"Good morning,We here to meet with Dr.Thomas",Lauren answered her.
"Ok just have a sit and she will be out with you",She said while picking the phone up.
"Ok",Lauren said and we walk to the two seats that was sitting there.
About couple minutes later,A big lady came out to the waiting area.
"Good morning,I'm Dr. Thomas",She said.
"Good morning,I'm Lauren and this is my husband Rashad",Lauren said.
Hearing her say my husband brought a smile to my face.Maybe it was some hope.We walk in Dr.Thomas office.I was a nice office with a accent of pink around it.
"Please sit",She said also while taking a sit in a chair.
"I know why you here today because of some married problems,but I have a question why come?"She asked.
We look at each other and then Lauren spoke,"I feel that Rashad puts business before his family".
"Example please",She asked.
Lauren look at her hands and then look up.
"He would come in until 2 or 3 in the morning.Where I'm at home with our son all day".
"Rashad,how you feel about that",She asked me.
"Ummm,I mean I'm a very busy man and I have to make sure you family is straight",I said with confidence.
My family means everything to me and I don't want them to go without nothing.
She asked us multiple questions.Some questions was hard for me to answer and others was hard for me to listen too.
We stayed in here for about two hours talking about the problem of today.The next session we will talk about past relationships,life,etc.
I learned that Lauren just wants me around more and that the fact we have a son she doesn't understand why I'm not.
We walk to tell car in silent.It was alot to take in.Having my wife think the working and getting money was more important than my family hurt.
Before I started the car I look over at her.She was looking out the window.
"I don't want you to think I don't love you or my family.Yall the most important people in my life".
She look over at me and smiled.
"I know but you can't blame me about how I feel".
"I know Lauren and I'm not.I want this marriage to work".
She nodded and lean in to kiss me.I haven't kissed my wife in weeks. Like a real deal kiss tongue and all.
I started the car and we pulled off.
