Rina's P.O.V

 

 

          "Oh my prodigal son! Welcome back!" natutuwang sabi ni Papa sabay yakap kay JD ng mahigpit at tinapik nya pa ito sa may likod. "Where have you been? Glad you still know the way back!"

          "Get your filthy hands off me you freakin old man!" asar na sabi ni JD sabay alis sa kamay ni Papa sa balikat nya.

          "Still the same bastard eh?" natatawang sabi ni Papa. "Why is it that I already got used to your not-so-rude attitude huh?"

          "Don't ask me math."         JD mocked.

          "By the way..." sabi ni Papa sabay tingin sa babaeng katabi ni JD. "Who's this girl? Another playmate?"

          Inakbayan ni JD ang babaeng katabi nito at saka ito iniharap kay Papa.

          "Old man, this is Emi. Emi, my freak father." pagpapakilala nya sa dalawa.

          "Finally! I got the chance to meet you Sir! I'm Emi." nakangiting sabi ng babaeng kasama ni JD at sabay nito inilahad ang isang kamay nito kay Papa. "I heard a lot of stories about you."

          "I assume all of it was bad eh?" sabi ni Papa sabay tanggap sa kamay nung babae. "And please, drop the formality. You can call me Tito."

          Ngumiti na lang yung Emi sa huling sinabi ni Papa reassuring him that she doesn't believe anything that JD said about his own father. "Sure, Tito."

          "Rina hija! Come here!" tawag sa akin ni Papa.

          Hindi ko man gustong makita at makaharap si JD sa ngayon ay wala akong ibang nagawa kundi ang lumapit sa kanila at harapin sila ng maayos—kahit na sobrang labag na labag sa loob ko.

          "Pasensya ka na Emi but my wife is busy in the kitchen." Papa said at saka ako hinila mas malapit sa kanila. "This is JD's sister. Perhaps you haven't met?"

          Napatingin sa akin si Emi at saka ako nginitian ng makahulugan.

          "I think I met her on our way here."

          "Oh?" Papa said disbelief in his face.

          "Hi!" nakangiting sabi sa akin ni Emi. "Your name is?"

          "Rina." plain na sabi ko.

          I already don't like this girl and I don't know why.

          I feel like someone is staring at me. At sa paglingon ko sa tabi ni Emi, I saw JD staring at me with his annoying smirk on his lips.

          'Anong problema nya?!' sa isip ko.

          Yes, I was hurt to know the fact that JD is still mad at me and that I am not the one standing beside him now...it's Emi.

          If only I haven't fall in love with him and vice versa, perhaps my dream family will be given. And now, I'm being punished for my sins. For my greediness—for having romantic feeling to my stepbrother.

          I raised my brow to JD then he look away at saka sya ngumiti nung humarap sya kay Emi.

          And it pains me...again.
