For some reason it wasn't much of a suprise when Nico woke up in the damned infirmary. He didn't care how much time he spent with Will in here, he still hated it. But what was a suprise was that there were other people in the infirmary. Nico guessed everyone was done "being careful after a war" and back to being... well, demigods.
"Good morning sunshine." Katie's voice sang happily. Nico wished it was Will who had said those words, but seeing Katie was good none the less. It made Nico's little heart fill up with warmth.
Katie finished writing something in her book and slapped it shut. She was sitting cross legged in Will's usual spot at the foot of Nico's bed and was smiling at Nico.
"I heard you scared the shit out of some young campers then had a tantrum and ended up having a sleepover with some Dracanae. You sure were busy."
Nico sighed. "Don't remind me." He tossed the covers off and swung his feet off the bed.
"Whoa whoa whoa. Where do you think you're going?" Katie jumped off his bed, grabbed his ankles and threw them back into the bed before trapping them under the blankets and proceeding to tuck him in.
"Hey! Would you- Ow! Why did you pinch me?"
"Will said to pinch you if you tried to get out of bed." Katie stood straight and started pacing the left side of Nico's bed.
"What in Hades are you doing?" Nico asked as his eyes followed her movements as he rubbed his arm.
"Will also said to make sure you stay in bed." She stated matter-of-factly.
"Seriously? I need a warden now? Come on- Ow! Stop. Pinching. Me." Nico had tried to sit up but Katie was on him in a second, pinched him on the arm, then shoved him back onto the mattress. "You're dead serious about this."
"Yup."
"I hate having people who care." Nico mumbled as he rubbed his face. Still hiding hid face with his hands, Nico asked, "Do you know where Will is?"
"Sorry, classified."
"Seriously? Classified?" Katie remained silent except for the scuffing of her shoes pacing the floor. Nico sighed exasperated and looked up to her again, slowly sitting up, making sure she knew he wasn't trying to make a break for it. "Fine, what were you writing in that book?"
"Oh nothing," Katie said calmly before whipping her head to meet Nico's eyes with a wicked smile on her face. "Just a fanfiction of you and Will that might or might not have some smut in it." She winked before grabbing her book off the bed and passed it to a passing Apollo camper who nodded and took it without a word, but not before flashing Nico a knowing smile.
"Hey, was that Robert?" Nico asked.
"Who? There's no Robert in cabin seven. That was Claude. Total surfer dude, classic beach bum kinda guy. HEY CLAUDE!" Katie yelled. He came running back to her while hiding the book behind his back, as if trying to keep Nico from seeing it.
"Yo Commander K! Did you like, totally need somethin' else?"
"Nah, Nico was just curious about you so I thought you should meet him."
"Was up, bro? The name's Claude and I'm totally the guy you need if you want to... chill." Claude winked before dashing off again. That didn't make sense. His voice and speech patterns were definitely off, but Nico could have sworn that was Robert.
"Don't take up his deal for the drugs, I'm telling you, bad idea. Anyways, you should recognize him, he was on duty here in the infirmary when Leo was in. Don't know where you got Robert from though!" Katie giggled then continued her pacing.
Nico shook his head. Way to confusing for someone who just woke up. "What was that whole, 'Commander K' thing about?"
"I'm in charge of the Solangelo shippers in the Apollo cabin, which is like, everyone. We've formed ranks and I'm commander, right after General Will." Nico stared at her, trying to process the words that came out of her mouth. Nico facepalmed, flopped back into bed, buried his face in the pillow and sighed dramatically.
"This can't be happening. Please just tell me where Will is."
"Right here, death breath."
