Chapter Seven - Texts and Dates

Chapter Seven.

"Goal." Josh shouts, fist pumping in the air.

Right now we're watching American football, actually he's watching American football I'm texting my mom in my phone. I miss her so much, I think I'm homesick. Don't get me wrong the Bahamas is wonderful I just want to be back in California again, but these past days have been quite good and I'm glad Luke came with me - I don't think I would've survived without him.

Mom: Are you all having fun.
Me: I'm having a great time I glance at Josh before continuing Josh isn't that bad.
Mom: I bet he isn't sweetie, I just finished a painting I think you would love it.
Me: of course I would I mean it's your paintings, I gotta go love you
Mom: love you too Tori bye

"So I'm not a bad person huh?" Josh asks behind me. Nosey.

"You, mister, shouldn't be reading my texts." I say walking into Josh and I room.

"Whatever, what's your friend doing today." Josh asks lying on my bed. He does that all the time. I mean our beds are the same.

"Why do you do that?" I ask looking at him, tilting my head to the side.

"Do what?"

"That, you lie on my bed, instead of yours why?" I ask.

"Because Tori. . . I'll be lying if I said I didn't like your scent." He exhales. Josh likes my scent, woah.

We stare at each other for a long time. Josh stands up from the bed, walking slowly towards me, still not breaking the eye contact. His hot breath fanning my breath. His eyes flicker to my lips for a split second. He starts leaning and surprisingly, I do too. . .

"Hello suckers! - woah am I interrupting something here?" Luke asks pointing his fingers between the both of us.

"I - uh - eh." I start to stammer.

"No, you weren't Tori and I weren't doing anything." Josh comes in saving the day. Kind of.

"Hmm yeah." Luke says still not convinced. I mean I wouldn't be convinced either it looked like Josh and I were going to. . .no we weren't were we, I wonder what it would feel like though if we. . .y'know. No! Snap out if it Tori!

"Anyway, I need a favour from you both." Luke says interrupting me from my thoughts.

"Yeah what do you need?" I ask.

"How much are you going to pay?" Josh asks. I roll my eyes and Luke chuckles slightly.

"So you both will do it no matter what?" Luke confirms.

"Sure." I say.

"Whatever." Josh crosses his arms - he seems - angry at Luke?

"Well. . . I asked Kate to go on a date with me-" he starts, "that's fantastic" I congratulate. "But I'm scared, I really really like her so I was wondering if you two could accompany me - you know like a double date?" He finishes.

"I don't know man, a date with-" he points at me "her."

"Hey! I'm not that bad and you know it." I shoot back.
