I return my mom's mascara in her drawer and I look in the bathroom mirror one my time, my hair was curled and my make up was light. I sigh and walk downstairs as I do my mom turns around and her hand covers her mouth.

"Too much?" I ask.

"You look beautiful, Tori, here let me take a picture," my mom hastily says I groan and plaster on a fake smile, since I hate taking pictures. My mom snaps about three or four photos with the camera. After all that commotion I get a text from Josh:

Josh: You ready?

Me: Yea, but hurry my moms making me take picturs

This is what I get for typing fast.

Me: Pictures*

Josh: even while we are texting you still want your spelling to be perfect.

Me: what can I say, I am a perfectionist.
Me: Are you driving?

Josh: Yeah, so?

Me: that's dangerous, I'm gonna stop texting you now.

Josh: ♥️

I smile and turn off my phone, I sit at the dining table and my mom smiles warmly at me.

"Where did my four year old daughter go?" My mom says close to tears.

"She's still here, deep down," I remind mom hugging her.

The doorbell rings and my mom answers it. I peep from the kitchen and see Josh standing there talking to my mom, my mom gives him something and I become curious. What could she have given him? He smiles at the hand he used to accept the hidden gift and put it in his pocket. I exhale walking out, my white heels making a echo on the wooden floor with every step I take. Josh smiles at me lovingly and I smile back.

"Woah...Tori you look...woah," he says mesmerised.

"You look great too," I compliment.

"Awe, let me get a picture of you two, get in get in," mom says, Josh and I glance at each other before he puts an arm around my waist looking at the camera but from the corner of my eye I see he is looking somewhere else, at me.

"Okay," mom giving us a thumbs up showing she's snapped the photo.

"Bye mom," I kiss her cheek. Josh and I go outside and I close the door behind me.

"Eh, sorry I didn't get us a limo they're just damn expensive and I couldn't afford it," Josh says scratching his neck.

"I don't care, it's fine."

I get in the passenger seat while he starts the car and we are off to prom.

Oh so we thought.

"Damn it," Josh exclaims banging his palms on the steering wheel. Josh hastily gets out of the car and checks the flat tire. I get out of the car as well and rub my arms due to the cold.

"Get into the car Victoria," Josh sighs, I don't listen however. I crouch down taking a look and he looks at me and sigh, this time, an angry sigh. He gets up pacing and around running his hands through his hair.

I stand up and smile at him, "What the hell are you smiling about?"

I shake my head and look up at the sky at the starry night. I always loved the stars my mom always thought I would be a astronaut. For my sixth birthday she got me a telescope. I loved it. I truly did.
