A Score To Settle
Zayne
I kissed Skye one last time before going to do my business. I drove to Montana house and he opened the door.
He handed me a silencer, silently as I sat down across from Fi and next to Tubby. Banks face was pure agony every time he lifted his left arm. I pulled out a baggie of oxy & vicodin and handed them to him.
"You're an angel." Banks said, swallowing two oxy dry.
I laughed before loading a few extra magazines in my pockets. Fi had her beloved semi automatic weapon but it didn't come with a silencer.
"Fi, you better be using a pillow if you're bring that." I said, eyeing the gun.
"I'm just bringing it for extra protection. I got the lil puny gun." She said, showing me hers that had a silencer attached.
Tubby was mostly silent, which was unusual for her. "Yo wassup with you?" I asked her.
She looked at me before biting her lip, "My ma hit me up the today."
"Why?" I asked, looking at her.
"My sperm donor is in the hospital." She said, looking away bitterly.
"Yo, keep yo head with us. I ain't finna bury you." I said, holding her head in my hands.
She nodded, "I'm good fam. Just tryna figure out why she thought I would care."
"You better be." Banks said, "Can't have you acting like Zayne when she lost Skye."
Everyone laughed except me because I just gave them all the finger. It was just now getting dark so we all piled into two trucks, Mine & Fi's. Banks had to get a new one due to all of the bullet holes that covered his.
"You ready?" I asked Tubby and Banks, who were the ones in my truck.
"Thanks to those oxy, my shoulder don't even hurt." Banks said.
Tubby laughed, "Don't open that wound back up."
We all parked right outside the cul de sac behind the one he lived in. His backyard was heavily wooded so it was easy to get to his house without being spotted. The hard part was getting inside without making a noise.
We pried open the window we had planned to use and Tubby went in first with me after her, Banks after me, Montana after him, and Fi bringing in the rear. We hadn't made a sound but we also hadn't been inside the house before so this would take a little longer than we hoped. We walked into the hallway and noticed two sets of stairs, both going up. We decided to split up the way we had in the trucks with my group going to the left and Fi's group going to the right.
Our boots silently hit the stairs, our guns at the ready. Nobody came out to meet us at the top of the stairs so we continued down the hall. Fi was at the other end of the hallway and she pointed to the door she was about to open.
I nodded, pointing the first one on my side of the hall. I opened it slowly to reveal an empty bathroom with the lights off. The shower & closet were both empty. We moved to the next room and saw it was empty but looked like a guest room. We kept going finding a linen closet, another bathroom, and a room that was bare of everything.
Fi and I met at the last door and we both knew it had to be his bedroom. We opened it slowly and we saw two sleeping figures in the bed. We tiptoed in the room before spreading across the bed. Montana grabbed the woman with a hand over her mouth and the gun to her head.
She looked at us with tears rolling down her cheeks. She was rather pretty with long blonde hair, smooth light skin, and big doe eyes that glowed in the dark room.
Too bad she had to die. I poked the man with the barrel of my gun and his eyes flew open. He looked at me then around me before smiling.
"Well if it isn't the bitch that killed my daddy." He said, "I'm sure you know who I am, breaking in my house and shit. I'm Blaze, nice to meet you." His eyes landed on Banks and a sour pucker was on his lips. "I see you survived."
"Do you have a twin?" I asked, not really one for small talk.
"Maybe. Maybe not." He said grinning.
"You know what?" I said, "Kill the bitch."Montana pulled the trigger and a small almost soundless pop sounded and her body fell. His left glove was covered in blood.
"You think we playing?" Banks asked.
"Y'all ain't shit." He said, but his eyes held fear. He watched the girl bleeding on his bed.
"Banks kill him." I said, watching Banks smile before whispering something that sounded a lot like "My pleasure."
A single bullet went through his skull and his eye laid empty. We snuck back out of the house, running through the woods and back to our trucks. The dark sky covering us from prying eyes and strong winds.
At Home...
I got inside, instantly stripping down at the door. I hated getting blood on my floor. Especially after Montana pulled up the carpets for me.
I pulled the clothes up and took them into the bathroom. I pushed it up into the vents over the toilet in a trash bag before getting into the shower and washing away the worries of tonight.
I washed my boots off before going into the bedroom. Skye sat on the bed, reading on her phone.
"Hey beautiful. It's 2 a.m. What are you doing up?" I asked, pulling on some clothes.
"Where were you, Zayne?" She asked, eyeing me warily.
"I had some business to handle." I said, "I told you that."
"Mhm. Probably out fucking bitches." She said.
"I'm not." I said, shaking my head.
"Whatever. We need to talk about your club." She said.
"A'ight wassup?" I asked, laying on the bed next to her.
"Heidi got raped. And she said the man paid the bouncer to let him do it." She said, looking at me.
"A'ight, so what you telling me for?" I asked, yawning.
"You really allow that to happen in yo club?" She said, her eyes wide.
"Look ma, that shit don't happen when I'm there but I can't go in there and fire all of my bouncers. Ain't none of 'em go admit to that shit, ain't no telling who the customer is, and Heidi quit already." I said, "What's the point?"
"So you just go let them get away with it?!" She screamed, "That is revolting. What if it was me, Zayne? Or Rio?"
"Then I'd kill every bouncer and customer in that bitch." I said, "I understand you're mad right now so I'll talk to all the bouncers tomorrow."
Skye nodded, "And I better be there or you won't be sleeping with me."
"In which way?" I asked, laying my head on her chest.
"Every way possible." She said, playing in my hair. "Can I do your hair?"
"How?" I asked, looking up at her.
"Bantu knots." She said.
"And what are those?" I asked, feeling my eyes close while listening to Skye's heartbeat.
"They make your hair..." Skye said but I fell asleep before she could finish.
