Finding Them (Part Two)
Zayne
We bursted into the warehouse, guns blazing only to find nobody was in sight. Something about this situation made my skin crawl and my stomach to tighten in an almost painful way.
Skye was here but everything was off. My arms got goosebumps covering them. My soldiers had lessened significantly since this morning and all had an assortment of weapons, but were watching me for instructions on what our next move would be.
"I'm positive that this is it. But why is nobody here?" I pondered aloud, willing myself to not fret.
"Fuck this." Tubby said, "I'm going in."
As soon as she declared this, a bullet whizzed past her face by a few mere centimeters. Tubby looked surprised by aimed upward towards the sky where it came from."On the roof!" A random voice from behind me had called out.
Everyone around me all tried to take cover, but not everyone could hide. Fuck hiding. I continued to walk forward with Tubby and Banks on either side of me. Fi was already setting up a sniper rifle somewhere close. Montana stayed behind to help thin out the people against us.
Bullets continues to whizz past our faces and we had one too many close calls just trying to get into the building but I trusted Montana and the others would maintain a steady backup for us. Running towards the entrance of the warehouse, we pushed our way inside the single metal door. The light was very dim and I could hardly see my surroundings.
A few more soldiers had joined us, but I didn't care. My biggest concern was finding Skylander right now. That's all I cared about.
"What the fuck?" I heard someone scream and I aimed my gun that way.
My eyes hadn't adjusted to the dim lighting yet so I couldn't make out who it was.
"Drop your weapons." I heard a voice say and I heard a gun cock a few seconds later before it was pushed into my head.
I gritted my teeth, I didn't have time for this bullshit. I turned around and looked directly into the eyes of the man holding the gun to my forehead.
He looked shocked that I wasn't terrified and I smiled at him because my eyes had adjusted and I could see a soldier now had a gun to his head.
"See you fucked up crossing me." I stated, pushing his gun away from my forehead.
He looked confused but I had no time to dwell on how he looked or acted. I pushed the man backwards away from me, and turned to walk away when I heard gunfire erupt behind me.
I didn't care, I had to find Skye in this massive warehouse. I heard footsteps beside me and saw Tubby jogging to catch up with me. I didn't even realize I was jogging until now.
I didn't care. I kept running until I came up on a door. I heard running behind me and I turned around to see a few people aiming guns at us.
"Put down your weapons." One of the people screamed, their gender was unknown to me neither did I care.
I aimed at them and let off a single bullet into all of their heads. I didn't have time to care. I turned to see Tubby had already pushed open the door and was currently firing inside from outside the right side of the door.
I loved Tubby but I had to keep searching. I pushed open the next door to find nothing but mildew smelling boxes and a single chair.
I heard footsteps and soon saw Tubby standing next to me. She seemed to be nursing a wound to her lower arm but she was still running next to me. We pushed open another door, deciding not to split up again.
I wanted to find Skye, but I had to be patient. I couldn't let my best friend die, I felt so torn on what was right and wrong.
The next door revealed a man raping a screaming woman. He stopped and looked up at us, a genuine look of surprise crossed his features before Tubby put a bullet through his head.
"Aye, do you know if two girls are here? Skye & Rio?" I asked, studying her face.
She shook her head no, and I just ran away from her to the next door. The next door revealed a girl, throwing up on herself. She looked at us but I didn't even stop running.
The next door revealed a set of stairs going upward. Probably towards the roof or something, but that didn't mean Skye wasn't up there.
We thundered up the stairs, aiming our guns out in front of us in the almost complete darkness. We couldn't even see the stairs we were on but if she was up there, then it didn't matter.
We pushed open the door at the top of the stairs. The roof wasn't completely empty, a few shooters were still there and were too preoccupied to notice us.
I aimed at the one closest to me and ended his life quickly. Tubby did the same with the one closest to her. We silently decided they could handle the last two alone before we raced back down the stairs.
The hallway turned to the left and there was only one door left to be open.
I prayed I took the right hallway because there was no telling what was happening to my precious Skye right now. I pushed opened the last door and ran into the complete and utterly dark room.
"Yo, I can't see shit." Tubby declared before pulling out her phone and turning on the flashlight app. She walked ahead of me, with me trailing behind her, gun at the ready. "There's some stairs over there."
We went down the stairs only to find the door that led to the room or more stairs to be locked.
"Fuck." Tubby shouted as she rammed into the door.
The door didn't even began to give way and with her injured arm, she was only making herself weaker.
"Move!" I screamed, letting a couple bullets off at the doorknob until it fell off and the door flew open.
We scrambled down the rest of the stairs to be led into a dimly light room that had a single lightbulb swinging. The room smelled of blood and filth, but my eyes were still adjusting to the dim lightly which was a huge contrast to the pure blackness we had been in a few moments before. My eyes finally adjusted and I looked around.
My heart stopped at what I saw.
End of chapter. I hope you enjoyed this. If so leave a vote and a comment. There's only one or two chapters left.
