"Niall I swear if you don't tell him I'm going to do it for you!"

"Shut up, Lou! You wouldn't do that."

"I will if you don't grow some balls, Ni. You like him and you need to accept it and ask him out."

"Whatever. I'm not going to ask him out. What if he says no?"

"He's dumber than a five pound sack of stupid if he doesn't realize what a great guy you are."

"What about my mom?"

"What do you mean? She's not going to shun you or anything, you know that."

"No, I don't know. I'm scared, Louis."

This was the first of many conversations that Louis and I had. He continued to try to convince me to go after Harry, but I just couldn't. If Harry so much as glanced at me in the hallways I would duck my head to avoid eye contact, blushing like mad. It was really embarrassing.

I was back to square one - too nervous to talk to him.

It was a Friday and I had just entered the school building and I was headed towards my locker when I noticed him. He was leaned up against the locker next to mine, his mouth in a grim line as he watched other students walk past him.

We seemed to notice each other at the same time, and when he saw me looking he stood up straight, his arms falling to his sides as I slowly walked to my locker.

I felt a blush creep up onto my cheeks and I didn't say anything as I opened my locker, ignoring the green eyed gaze that was burning into the side of my face as he watched me. I grabbed the book for my first hour class and shut the locker, accidentally slamming because of my nervousness. I turned to walk away and I felt his hand on my shoulder, keeping me in place.

I slowly turned around, my blue eyes meeting dark green as I looked up at him silently. He was a few inches taller than me so I had to angle my face up a bit to look him straight in the eyes. My eyes flickered down to his lips and I wondered if he was going to kiss me again right here in the middle of the hallway for everyone to see.

I stared at his pink lips, and then moved my gaze and took in more of his features. He had a single freckle on the skin to the left of his lips, and you could see spots if acne here and there on his forehead, but he was one of those people whose acne didn't affect their looks at all. His curls were swept to the side and his eyebrows were furrowed as he chewed on the inside of his cheek.

Finally, he cleared his throat and spoke, his deep voice like music to my ears.

"I know you don't want to talk to me, but I just thought I'd let you know that we're dissecting the frogs in class today. You'll have to speak to me in there even if you don't want to." He said.

I felt a rush of nervousness and I nodded my head.

"Alright."

It was nothing more than a whisper and he didn't say anything else as he turned away and headed to his class, leaving me alone to think about what he had said. I sighed and ran a hand through my hair before sliding that hand down my face slowly, knowing that I probably looked silly but not caring.

I made it to my first hour class a few minutes before the bell rang, and when the class started I was lost in my own thoughts.

He was going to have to come over to my house sooner or later and I was going to have to spend extra time writing that stupid paper over frog adaptations with him. I had never felt like anything I did in school was useless until now.
