~ Chapter 29 ~

"Which bed are you aiming at Lex?" I asked her. We were still perched up on the roof waiting for one of the boys to give us the signal to shoot.

"The right one," she replied watching the room through the scope on the sniper. I did the same. It was hard not to just pull the trigger. There were four men on the bed fast asleep while one seemed to be in the bathroom taking care of his business. They were so vulnerable and clueless; I just wanted to end Max's life right there. He has no idea his life is in great danger and it just makes his death all the more merrier.

"Don't even think about it Tori," Lexi interrupted my thoughts. "I know what's on your mind cause it's on mine too. We need to be patient. Max might know something important."

I exhaled loudly and shook my head telling her I understood what she meant. It was just so damn tempting! All I had to do was pull my one finger and then bam! Problem solved!

I moved my sniper slightly to the side so that it was pointing at the door. I was able to see the handle moving back and forth slowly. The boys were picking the lock. Which is somewhat confusing because last time I checked you needed a card to unlock it; a card slot is way different then a key slot.

The doorknob finally turned all the way down as the door slowly opened. One thing that sucked about being on this roof outside was that you can't hear anything. It was like watching a movie on mute. Until the gunfire started of course. Alex's head popped out of the doorway first and then Logan's did. Still watching them through the sniper's scope, Logan tossed a smoke grenade into the room. They both retracted their heads as the grenade made a somewhat quiet bang. I could barely make out any noise from the roof.

The room quickly filled up with smoke while Max and his gang shot up from the bed choking on the lack of oxygen. They were holding their throats and fell to the floor before passing out. Logan suddenly slipped his head back in the room and took his gun out aiming at the smoke alarm that sat on the ceiling. It had almost filled every square inch of the room. Logan fired and the alarm fell down tattered into pieces. He retreated back into the hallway and closed the door.

Lexi's phone rang again and I glared at her since she didn't turn it off. She didn't notice me as she pulled out her phone and answered.

"Yea? Ok. No problem."

"Who was that and what did they say?” I asked her.

"Shoot everyone except Max."

"Why can't they do it? They're right there," I questioned.

"Because they don't exactly want to suffocate themselves by being trapped in a room full of smoke," she stated in a ‘duh’ tone. I smiled at her. She's always so dramatic and sarcastic. It's what always makes her fun to be with it.

There were three loud bangs so I quickly looked back into the room to find all three of Max's friends dead. The carpet was soaked with blood staining it red. "Wow Lex. You didn't even let me get one person!"

"You took too long babbling." She laughed at me as she started disassembling her sniper.

"Ha, ha, ha!" I imitated her laugh making me sound like Santa Claus. "Why are you putting everything away?"

"Because we're done here right?" she said with uncertainty obvious in her voice.

"Are we done?" I asked myself. I furrowed my brows together thinking deeply. When I realized something my eyes widened and I looked back into the scope. Through the lens, I was able to make out a few figures moving through out the room. One looked tall and skinny, but buff. I presumed that was Alex. Another figure that was a couple inches shorter stood behind him - Logan. They looked like they were trying to haul Max's body to the front door when another figure came out of the bathroom.
