~ Chapter 19 ~
The floor’s moving and everything is spinning. What’s going on? Why is Lexi dancing upside down? Slowly twisting my head to look to the left, there was a passed out Alex on the couch. His shirt was unbuttoned and crinkled as he lay face down. Am I on the ground? My shoulders felt heavy like lead and my legs felt glued to the hardwood floor. Around me, there were at least three big, empty glass bottles strewn across the living room. I was on the floor in the living room? Suddenly, Logan came in through the kitchen. He walked toward me, but his steps were jittery and uncontrolled. A bottle, just like the ones around the living room, was in his hand. He shakily took a seat next to me on the floor.
“Hey Sally. I haven’t seen you in a long time. What are you doing in my house?” he muttered in a drunken tone.
“Sally? I’m not Sally. Give me that bottle,” I demanded, barely above a whisper in my drunken state. Grabbing the bottle out of his hand, I took a swig. It burned my throat, but in a good way. I groaned as it satisfied my thirst. “That was delicious. Do you have any more?”
“You drank all my Vodka! No!” Logan screeched in a voice three octaves higher than normal. He stomped his foot like a little boy having a tantrum. “No, no, no!”
“I’m sorry Logan. I was just so, so thirsty,” I mumbled into his shoulder. The bottle dropped out of my hand and rolled underneath the couch. Logan took a deep breath causing his shoulder to move up and down dramatically.
“O, Tori.”
“Huh?”
“Nothing.”
“Tell me.”
“It’s not important.”
“Please. What is it?”
“Never mind what I said.”
“But-”
“Hey guys! Dance with me!” Lexi ordered grabbing our arms and hauling us off the floor. She went over to an iPod player on the coffee table and turned on some music. “Yeah x3” by Chris Brown started playing and Lexi grabbed my hand and spun me around singing along with the lyrics.
“Lexi,” I whined, “I’m too tired to dance. My head’s starting to hurt.” My vision started to have black spots and my legs felt weaker.
“Tori? How come you look shorter?” My knees were about to give way as I sunk lower and lower towards the floor. Before I could comprehend anything else my sight turned completely black.
“Tori!” I heard Logan cry out just as I hit the ground.

A burst of sunlight danced across my eyelids making me see red from my flesh. I cautiously opened my eyes and looked toward the light. Did someone open the curtains? A shadow was cast on my face as I looked at the window. Logan stood in front of it with his arms out holding open the curtain. He was shirtless and I don’t know if it was just me or what, but it looked like the sun reflected off his chest. Him and his chest in all it’s glory. He sighed and turned around facing me. “You okay?”
“Hmm? Yea. Why? Did something happen to me?”
“You passed out remember?”
“I did?” I had a vague memory of blacking out, but I couldn’t really remember anything that happened before it. I think I saw Lexi dancing...
“Yea. You had too much to drink,” Logan stated and took a seat next to me on the bed. O my goodness, I’m on a bed! Where am I? I instantly sat up.
Logan caught my alarmed mood. “You’re in my room. Well, my second room actually since we’re at Alex’s house.”
My body relaxed as I sunk back down into the comforter. Something on my leg started to itch. It felt like it was constricting my legs together. Lifting up the covers, there was a leather mini skirt wrapped around me. I was wearing a leather mini skirt... I covered my face with my hands in embarrassment.
“Are you embarrassed? Because you looked really hot in that skirt.”
I blushed a deep red and buried my face even deeper into the bed. He chuckled and laid his hand on my back. Why do I do such stupid things? Whenever I’m drunk, why do I have to be the crazy one?
The door opened and Lexi stood in the entrance. Well, I have to admit, Lexi’s dressed off worse than me. She stood there clad in nothing but a big t-shirt that fell off one shoulder and hung to her mid-thigh. “Hey Tori? We have to get home,” she announced.
“What? Why?” I asked concerned. Did something happen?
“We have to read all the stuff in the package, remember?” she replied.
O, my goodness! I totally forgot all about that! I have that huge stack of papers to go through and I only have so much time. What time is it anyway? The small clock on the nightstand, next to the bed, read 2:30.
“Holy bajebees!” I blurted, “It’s that late? How long was I out?”
“As if I remember,” she uttered as she stumbled lazily back into the hallway, probably in search for Alex. She made a clicking sound as she left. Are those diamond studded stilettos on her feet? Suddenly, a loud bang interrupted the silence. I was up on my feet and out of the bed in as quick as a heartbeat. What was that? Logan rushed past me out the door and I followed suit. Not even ten feet away was Lexi...sprawled out on the floor. I should have guessed something bad would’ve happened. I mean Lexi and six inch heels? Plus, she just woke up and she also has a hang over. What can you expect? Exactly this.
“Lexi? Are you okay? You didn’t hurt yourself, did you?” I asked in a worried tone. No answer. I gently shook her shoulder.
“Lexi?” Logan attempted, but there was still no answer. A huge wave of panic started to set in. Lexi’s not talking; she’s not moving!
Hands shaking, I roughly shook her shoulder again. “Lexi?! O my goodness. Call 911!” I screeched. “Call 911!”
Logan sprinted downstairs, out of sight. A door nearby slammed open with an alarmed Alex. His hair was sticking up all over the place and his eyes were opened wide with shock and fear. He looked from me and then down to Lexi’s immobile body.
“Lexi?” he said barely above a whisper, but her eyes remained shut and her body frozen. Gulping loudly, he ran downstairs to Logan. As reality started to sink in, I started hyperventilating; my breathing grew ragged and tears started forming behind my eyes. This can’t be happening! I pinched my arm hoping tis was just a bad dream and that I’d wake up, but I was still here. I was still on the floor with Lexi tears starting to drench my clothes. I hopelessly grasped her hand in mine and let the tears fall on her hand. My only family was leaving me. The only person I had left was leaving. No, no Tori. You can’t be negative. She’ll be fine; she’ll wake up and everything will be back to normal. As I kept repeating this in my head sirens rang out in the streets.
