It's been a month
I've wondered how
This would look
And feel
What has all this
Time done?
It's over
In my heart
I can put it to rest
I've started
Full detachment
The hurt is dull now
Thoughts have made
Sense and now they don't matter
Want to set the record straight
I cared about you
I liked you
The way you treated me
Up until the end
That was it
Stronger feelings
Never developed
Not enough time to
You were a lesson learned
It's over
Am glad I never
Let my walls
All drop
Kept my heart protected
My mind rational
Logical
Never delusional
In fact now
I feel a sense
Of strange relief
Feel like what was
Never meant to be
Ended right on time
Not a shiny new toy
Not meant to be played with
Meant to be cared for
Cherished
By someone worthy
Need a real man
Not a coward
Who wants to grow
With me
With the relationship
Forwards not backwards
Someone who wants
To be with me
No matter what
Someone who is a fighter
For me
My heart
Someone who will tell me
To my face
When something goes wrong
Someone who doesn't give up
Someone who treasures
The small
The big
The everything
Someone who isn't you
