A long ago civilization

For most just a myth

Or wonderful fantasy

But not for me

For me

It was home

My very first home

On my very first life

Some believe in multiple lives

Old souls

Reincarnation

My first life

First home

Origin of me

Was Atlantis

A majestic island

With massive stone walls

All around

They seemed to be made

Out of gold

The people

Within these walls

Were happy

Free

From oppression

Tyranny

The nobles treated

The lower class

With respect

There were often

Great feasts

And parties

I was a young girl

Barely an adult

Under 25

I was of noble standing

And I was in love

My family

Both parents

With daughters

My sister was older

Already married

Now it was my turn

Being in love

Felt like floating

I would often

Stand by the water

Watching the ships

Come in from sea

For he

Was on one of those ships

He was a captain

Even at such young age

His ship had blue sails

Because it reminded him

Of my eyes

My eyes were blue

To match the long straight black hair

He said I was beautiful

I always blushed

When he spoke

Of how many children

We were to have

I was very shy, you see

I couldn't wait for

Our happily ever after

Waiting by the water

For his strong arms

To hold me

Atlantis was truly

A magical place

With forests, beaches

Music, laughter, and love

Children played games

Girls giggled over crushes

It was the ideal place to grow up

We always believed

The sea was our friend

Our way of life

Even when it rained

The water turning angry

We thought

The Gods would

Protect us

We praised them

We lived well

My beloved

Was always

On my mind

As was our wedding day

Sadly it was not to be

I was naïve

I didn't know

What went on

Beyond the sea

Didn't realize

What was about to happen

That day

The ships didn't come home

And my love

Oh my love

He, like the others

Went down with

The ships

That day

No one came back

They were all gone

Our brave men

Claimed by the Gods

The first to feel

The wrath of

The ocean

And than

The sea came

It came for us

For Atlantis

Swallowed

My home

My family

Me

But I was not scared

Strangely

Though I knew

I was about to die

I was at peace

I made myself

Sink deeper

I saw my love

My one and only

He smiled

Reached his hand

For mine

I went to him

I was to be with him

Only him

At the bottom of the sea

Where we would still

Be amid our home

Atlantis

My first home

Never shall I forget

The beginning

Everyone starts somewhere

That was mine

Among the sea

By the water

Under the waves

Looking up at the

Sunlight above

Welcome home!
