Thank you.
Goodbye.
Ok, I owe you more than that.
I created this book backwards.
Did you know that?
Well, now you do.
I thought of how, in a lot of other fantasy series, the world is in peril, but always sticks around.
I wanted to fuck that shit up.
So, instead, I killed the very world that this story took place in.
Later, when I was fleshing out the story, I thought of how awesome it would be if war destroyed more than lives or the politics of a world, but if it actually decimated a city.
As for my characters, each was, at one point, going to be the star of the show.
In the end, I couldn't choose between them, so, essentially, I just said:
Fuck it, they're all going in.
I hope you liked the book.
If you didn't, fuck off.
But, if you did, I hope you take one lesson with you.
See, the only actual antagonist in the book is Omer (who was originally planned to be the comedy relief).
Everyone else truly believed in what they were doing.
Just like in life, no one see's themselves as the villain.
I'm going to go and have a well deserved gallon of ice cream.
And, one last time,
before I say goodbye:
Thank you.
Goodbye.
