Chapter 55- Old friend

~Haley's P.O.V.~

When I said those words came out I braved myself for his reaction. At first his face turned blank. Then he looked down. Great he's not happy. I didn't know what to say so I stayed quiet.

"That's... that's... amazing" He said

I looked at him "What? Your not upset?" I asked

"Upset. Baby why would I be upset? Your pregnant"

I sighed "I know. But look, look at how we live. I can't bring a baby into this world"

"Hey. Hey look at me" He said cupping my face "We're having a baby. That's good news. That's amazing"

I slightly smiled

He pulled me into a hug and I let out a small laugh

He then pulled away "How did you find out? How far along are you?" He asked popping so many questions

"Daryl" I said laughing "I just found out right now. Jessie had some. I took like 5 just to make sure. It must have been couple weeks ago. I had morning sickness hence the tiny freckles"

He chuckled and noticed Maggie and Glenn passing by. He looked at them then at me. Giving me a pouty look. I nodded and he stood up as Maggie and Glenn approached us

"Hey guys" Daryl said

They smiled

"We have some news" Daryl said as he took my hand and I stood up. Daryl actually had a big smile on his face

"What's going on?" Glenn asked

"I'm pregnant" I blurted out. Again I embraced myself thinking they weren't going to be that happy

I snapped back into it when Maggie embraced me. I chuckled as she pulled away

"That's great. Really I'm so happy for you guys" Maggie said smiling

I returned the smile and Glenn nodded. I turned to noticed Spencer walking along the sidewalk on the other side

"Hey I gotta go. I will see you guys later" I said as I tip toed up a little and kissed Daryl on the cheek before I walked across the street and began walking along side Spencer

"Hey" I greeted with a smile

"Hey your glowing"

I smiled and looked down then looked back up

"Wait. Wait" He was beginning to figure it out "Are you? Wait. Are you pregnant?"

I shrugged and smiled

"You are aren't you? Come on just tell me" He said

I laughed "Okay, okay. Maybe I am"

He laughed and hugged me before be pulled away "That's great. Congratulations"

I smiled "Thank you"

Pretty soon basically everyone knew about my pregnancy. It spread fairly quickly. After awhile I walked up the stairs and looked out to the view of the road. I stood as I looked out until Rick came up

"How are you feeling?" He asked

"Good, a bit scared"

"Well you have every right to be. It's a big deal"

"Rick what if I can't do this? I don't want to end up like Lori"

Shit. Rick looked down

"Rick I'm sorry I didn't mean-"

"No don't be. Your afraid. But this, this is different. Your gonna be just fine"

"But you can't promise that, can you?"

He looked at me and slightly shook his head. I touched his shoulder "Thank you"

"Come on, I'm sure Daryl wants to see you"

I smiled as he walked down and he helped. I walked back to the house when Daryl came down with his weapon

"Where are you going?" I asked

"Our for a hunt, don't worry I won't be long baby" He kissed my head and touched my stomach before walking off. Great, I walked up the steps and inside the house. I walked over to the bed and laid down. After about n hour of laying down I got up and sat on the rocking chair on the porch

"Haley? Haley James?"

I looked up to see someone I knew from a long time ago. He walked up the steps to the porch

"Justin? Hi" I said as we hugged

He chuckled "How have you been?"

I nodded "Good. And you?"

"I'm okay, considering the world we live in now"

I nodded "Yea, wow I didn't think I was going to see you again"

He sat down on the chair next to me as I sat back down "Yea, when all this went down I was with Jenny and a whole bunch of the crew from high school"

"What happened?" I asked

"Shit happened. Let's just say when everything went down it was all of us. Then there we just me"

I sighed "I'm sorry"

He shook his head "Don't be, I'm just happy to be alive right now"

"Same here, how long have you been here?"

"Well I was in a hunt out there for a while, I always stayed in my house, but I heard you were here. Decided to say hi to an old friend" He flashed a smirk at me

It kinda of made me uncomfortable but I shook his off

"Hey Haley" Jessie said as she stood on the bottom of the steps

I looked at her

"I need your help"

I nodded and looked at Justin "I will see you later"

I stood up and walked down the steps as I walked beside Jessie. I looked back to see Justin staring me down

"You okay?" Jessie asked me

I nodded "I know Justin from high school"

"Hmm he always keeps to himself. I can't say I know him much"

I looked down as we kept walking just thinking. That look Justin gave me as I went down the stairs and looked back gave me chills.
