Ch. 18- Christmas Eve

Today was Christmas Eve and this was the day that me and my family exchange gifts. I was excited to see what my parents got me. I had gotten my mom a simple necklace and I got my dad a silver watch. I was also wondering what Draco got me, I couldn't wait to give him his present.

I opened my trunk and looked for the box. It was on the bottom in the corner. I pulled out the box and opened it. I had gotten him a ring similar to his family ring. But it was a snake and lion merging it was silver and gold. It was silver on the side with the snake and then gold on the side with the lion. On the inside it said

"forever and always" -H

I had it enchanted to fit to any of his fingers and nobody else's. I hoped he would like it but knowing him he would love it. I placed it back in the box. I grabbed the green wrapping paper and wrapped it up. I placed some ribbon around it and tied a bow. I took a little to and from sticker and wrote

'To Draco from Hermione <3'

I opened my door to check if anyone was in the hallway. Once I knew that it was clear I ran downstairs only to run right into someone going down the stairs. I fall back and who ever it is falls on top of me. I look up into familiar grey eyes

"Morning"

I laugh

"Morning"

"What do you have there?"

He looks at the wrapped box

"Is that my present?"

"Maybe"

He tries to grab for it and it results in us wrestling on the stairs.

"What is going on here?"

We stop and look at each other wide eyed. We both look down the stairs and see my mom

"Nothing mrs. Granger"

"It better be nothing. I suggest you two get up before your father sees you two he might think something else"

She walks back into another room. I start blushing and Draco chuckles

"I'll get that present somehow"

I wriggle out from under him and ran down the stairs. I hear Draco run down them too and chase after me. We run the dining room where my mom is sitting having coffee and reading the daily prophet. I run to one side of the table an Draco is on the other. I stop to think and wherever I try to go Draco mimicked me.

My mom stops reading and watches in amusement. I glance at the kitchen doorway and then at Draco. I moves towards it and then bolt the opposite direction towards the living room. Draco knew that I would do that because he meets me by the door and grabs me around the waist. He picks me up and I start screaming

"Put me down"

"Not until I get that present"

"Not yet"

I start flailing and kicking around trying to get away. Put I'm stuck in Draco's iron grip. My mother is still watching in amusement

"You two are adorable"

She starts laughing and so do I. Draco finally puts me down and starts laughing too. The door suddenly opens

"Merry Christmas eve"

My dad walks into the room and sees us all laughing

"What did I miss?"

My mom stops laughing

"Draco was chasing mione' trying to get his present and they ran around the table until Draco caught her"

My dad chuckles
