Chapter 38 - away for a while

Jack

"You did what to her!?" John yelled

"She was just trying to protect me, but she didn't want to lie to you anymore so I might as well just tell the truth!" I yelled back

"You raped her?" Tears and anger showed from Natalie--Cameron's mom-- as she grabbed her phone

John ran up on me, throwing a punch at my face. I dodged it, throwing a punch back at him.

"The police are on their way here" Natalie tried grabbing John off of me, but he pushed her back

"John get off of him!" Natalie screamed

I heard as the police sirens went off outside. John let me go and I went outside where the cops were.

"Jack Gilinsky, you're under arrest for kidnapping and rape"

I turned around letting him put the handcuffs on my wrists. The officer lead me to go car pushing me into the back of it.

Cameron

I hope he's okay. He hasn't came home yet. What has he gotten himself into? My phone started ringing, Johnson was calling me.

"Hello?"

"Hey I have some bad news"

"What happened?" I asked

"Jack's in jail"

Tears spilled down my cheeks, I knew this was going to happen, I just knew it.

"Are you serious? Will I be able to bail him out?" I asked through my sobs

"I'm afraid not"

"O-okay, how long is he going to be in jail?"

"Two to three years"

"Just for-" I cried harder "I-I'm sorry. I'll call you b-back later" I hung up, laying back in the bed

"This is fucking stupid, he didn't have to do that to himself"

Who called the police?

I sat downstairs, holding Michael in my arms. It doesn't feel right while he's gone. I looked down at Michael into his hazel eyes, he looked so much like Jack and I loved that about him. I'm gonna go visit him at three I miss him already.

I picked up my phone and called Hailey.

"Hello?" She answered

"Hailey..." My voice was still weak

"What's the matter cam?" She asked

"Jack turned himself in and he won't be out for two to three years. I don't know what I'll do without him" I whimpered

"Oh my god...why'd he turned himself in?"

"We had an argument and he said that he didn't deserve me and left. Johnson called me this morning telling me he was in jail"

"Are you okay?" She worried

"No, I'm not okay. I don't want Mikey to grow up without a dad"
