"Dear Future Self..."

Yesterday, I was searching through my room for some old notebooks that I could use for bible study and I came across this really nicely decorated notebook that I bought quite a few years ago which seemed to be empty...

Along with it, I found books upon books of old diary entries, some tracing back as far as Primary school (back when I was 10-11). I spent all of yesterday reading through all these old entries, looking back into my past which I don't remember very well due to medical issues (my memory is pretty good now but year 7 and 8 are quite fuzzy for me as I hadn't been diagnosed with my illness yet... it's hard to explain but I rather not talk about it too much... basically, some symptoms of my illness are loss of focus and short term memory when left untreated... I'M ALL GOOD K? I'm not dying or anything! I'm just going to stop talking...)

All of the books were absolutely filled with past dramas and thoughts and talking about my struggles along with these amazing jolts of enthusiasm and happiness from the smallest of events that just brought a smile to my face.  One of the entries talked about me discovering the book 'The Hunger Games' and how amazed I was by it and other entries talked about my best friend who is still my best friend today and it was just so weird reading 13 year old me talk about the same people I know so well now and ahhhhh.... It was really cool...

Anyway, so I had about 4-5 books filled while the last notebook was completely empty. I sat for a bit trying to think what I should do with it. I currently already use another book as a journal so I didn't really have much use for another one...

So I came up with the idea of writing to my future self. I want to fill the whole book with what kind of person I am currently for me to find in like 5 years time to read about.... allowing me to remember who I was as a teenager (well, older teen/young adult) and what was life like now.

I thought it would be a cool idea.

Anyway, I guess if you guys have any ideas of what I should write then feel free to let me know! You guys can even write a letter or something to my future self and I'll put it in the book... I don't know...

I recommend keeping a journal by the way, it's really therapeutic and is really cool to stubble upon later on in life. life tips with Bash
