You're Beautiful

You know... you are really beautiful.

Have you ever taken a second to turn to a mirror and admire yourself?

As someone who is trans, I do turn to the glass and grimace at what I find from time to time. Nothing that I enjoy about the sight I am presented with. My chest is too large, my hair too long, face so feminine. My ears are tiny, hands too large, arms growing hairier by the minute. Figure like an hourglass, eyebrows bushy, shoulders broad.

However, over the years, I've learnt to admire what I find, rather then frown at the display.

Because I can't change what I discover.

My motto in life is love what you can't change about ones self and in others if it does not cause damage.

Because those little quirks are what make you, you.

If we all had the 'perfect' look, we'd all look the same. The world would be boring.

There are many shades of beautiful.

I really like the way you smile.

Your skin tone is amazing.

I've always enjoyed the way your tummy looks.

I think those freckles are really swell.

Your nose is really cute.

Those eyebrows are looking really awesome today.

I enjoy your haircut.

Your neck looks lovely today.

Yes, your butt looks good in those jeans.

Those high heels don't make you too tall, work them.

Your feet are really great.

Your teeth are fantastic.

Your boobs are the perfect size for you.

Thighs are really sociable, they like being together so why create a gap between them.

The bags under your eyes show me how hard you work, and that's really special.

Your acne is not an eye sore.

Those scars show your struggles, thank you for being here and allowing the world to witness the beauty of your existence.

I could go on and on about why you are so special and beautiful. The possibilities are endless. I'm not hear to cure your hatred for that beginning that gazes back at you, I'm hear to let you know that I think you're pretty swell and that you deserve to be told that you are just as beautiful as anyone else on this planet.

No matter what the 'fault' or 'insecurity', someone finds the beauty in it.

And that someone should be you.

If you don't have the power to love what you see, I hope you find the strength soon. I know you have the power within you. I believe in you.

I love you.

You're Beautiful.
