Hi guys.
Unfortunately I have begun to lose interest in writing Learn to Trust. I won't be updating frequently as I have other books I am writing. Adding to that, I write these for fun and publish them for fun. If I don't enjoy it, I don't exactly want to continue. I might update from time to time but they will be short chapters. But thanks for sticking around.
Hugs, Val."B-blind?" I stammer. There's no way that that's possible. No way. He was fine half an hour ago!
"Yes. Blind. Blind with his love for you." All of a sudden, Josh and the doctor burst into laughter. Josh turns around to face me, a cheeky grin placed upon his lips.
"No way." I glare at him.
"Sorry." He says sheepishly. I walk up to him, slapping his arm.
"I cant believe you did that to me. I hate you."
"No, you love me." He goes to wrap his strong arms around me but I brush him off.
"You're still sick and as much as I love-" he smirks at me.
"As much as I hate you, I'd rather not get sick." Okay, so maybe I'm just a little mad that he played such a stupid prank on me but he was still sick and he needed the rest. At least after I get him back to his luxurious room (much more comfortable than mine) a maid could take care of him. He coughs, breaking me out of my thoughts.
"Oh yeah right." He yawns softly, his perfect lips making a perfect o.
"That's right. Take this. One pill a day until he gets better. I have a feeling it could last a while." The doctor hands me a little pill container, white and labeled with seemingly thousands of words.
"Thank you doctor. But still, you guys are so mean." I shake my head, smiling slightly.
"Let's go back." I lift Josh up so he was standing and we stagger back to his room, step by step.
"I'm sorry Carlie." Josh mumbles sleepily.
"Just don't do that ever again. It scared me." I admit.
"Okay." He promises. And then we're in his room, he's settled in bed and comfy.
"Alright well, see you later. I'll send a maid up."
"Wait what?" He shoots straight up and out of bed.
"You're leaving?" A hint of hurt laces his tone.
"Well..." I purse my lips.
"The other selected will be wondering where I am." I finish uncertainly.
"Does that really matter?" He asked but he was implying something else. Do the other selected's opinions matter more than me?
"I'll stay," I decide, sighing.
"Now back to bed with you."
"Yes sir." I arch an eyebrow.
"I mean ma'am." He corrects himself quickly and slides under his cream coloured comforter.
"Should I find someone to tell your parents?" I ask before he shuts away his eyes.
"Please do." He whispered before falling into a deep sleep. I nod and step outside to see if I can find anyone to inform the king and queen. I slam into a human wall. I'm already muttering profuse apologies when I look up and see Jake. I freeze for a moment before dipping into a graceful curtsy. Two can play at that game.
"I apologize greatly, your highness." He glances at me for a moment, his blue eyes ice cold and sharp. But hidden beneath that top layer, I discover a deep coat of hurt. He pulls his eyes away... And continues down the hall without saying anything at all.
