Elizabeth POV
I have never been more terrified in my life.
My father is here.
I can hear his voice, him laughing with his family who he has been away from for so long, and I feel like I'm doing the wrong thing.
I shouldn't have come. I shouldn't be doing this. I'm just going to ruin everyone's happiness.
I'm also scared to death that he won't like me. Or maybe he'll think I'm lying! Why would I do that though? Plus I look exactly like him and mom so...he can't really argue with that, can he? Do I get my stubborn streak from him?
I don't know...maybe I should just leave while I can.
Just then Carlisle opened the back door and gestured with his hand for me to come with him.
I stood completely still.
He looked at me worriedly, came over to me, and gently hugged me. He grabbed my hand, held it tight, and lead me inside.
"How did you find out?" My father asked in his deep, velvety voice, with his back turned to me.
Carlisle squeezed my hand.
"Through me." I responded.
He froze, Alice nodded at him, and he slowly turned to face me.
My heart started racing and my anxiety went up a level as his wide golden eyes first saw me.
He looked different in person, he looked better. The way he carried himself made him seem older then he looked. His bronze hair was exactly the same shade as mine, his golden eyes were wide and pretty, and his skin had the same porcelain type quality mine had.
We stood there accessing each other for what seemed like hours, but it was only a few minuets.
His eyes gave off every emotion he was feeling. Confusion, understanding, pain, self hate?
"Edward, are you okay son?" Carlisle asked, putting himself slightly in front of me.
He couldn't take his eyes off me, he wanted to look to his father for guidance, but he just couldn't bring himself to look away.
"I need to speak to Bella." He said so quietly I almost didn't hear him.
My heart sank in my chest.
"Later son, we'll discuss it. Elizabeth has been very anxious to meet you." Carlisle smiled back at me.
I was able to look away, suddenly released from whatever consciousness had me holding my fathers intense gaze.
"Elizabeth?" He asked, probably wondering if that was my name.
"Elizabeth Carlyle Masen." I told him, looking up from the ground to look him in the eyes while I spoke, then quickly looked away again.
