I am good for a while
I'll talk more, laugh more
Sleep and eat normally
But then something happens
Like a switch turns off somewhere
And all I am left with is the darkness of my mind
But each time it seems like I sink
Deeper and deeper
And I am scared...
Terrified that one day I won't make it back up
I feel like I am gasping for air
Screaming for help
But everyone just looks at me
With confused faces
Wondering what I am struggling over
When they're all doing just fine
And it makes me feel crazy

What the hell is wrong with me?

I laugh nervously whilst scratching the back of my head.

"Em....well..." I start to stammer and look away from him.

Should I trust him?

Yes

No

Well, he is our mate! states the voice in my head, clearly getting vexed with me.

Well can you blame me? The voice snaps, hearing my voice.

Who rejected us, remember? I remind myself and the voice.

Do you have a better option? Snaps the voice again, impatiently.

I sigh inwardly and return my gaze back to Will who was also getting a little impatient.

"I'm the beast" I finally manage to blurt out.

Will looks at me in shock.

"But...how?" He asks stunned.

"Honesty? I don't have a freaking clue. I mean, it just doesn't make any sense! "I reply frustrated and throw my hands up in the air.

He doesn't reply.

"What am I going to do?" I add quietly looking up at him from under my eye lashes.

He smiles at me weakly. " don't worry angel, we'll find a way"

"We? " I asked, dumbfounded.

"Of course I'm going to help! " he says, looking at me in disbelief.

"Why? " I ask.

" because you're my mate! " he replies as if it's the most obvious thing in the world.

No. He doesn't deserve to call me that, he lost that right the minute he rejected me.

" but you rejected me! " I snap outraged.

"I-" he starts but cuts himself off while looking away from me in defeat.
