The next morning, everyone was exhausted; especially Troye and Connor. However, no matter how exhausted the family was, they wouldn't let Connor live down the fact that he nearly burnt down the entire household. The kitchen still had the lingering smell of smoke whenever the oven was opened.

"How did everyone sleep?" Cheryl questioned, setting the plate of homemade pancakes in the middle of the table. For the most part, everybody replied with the same answer; a simple groan. "That bad, huh?"

"It's not my fault I was woken up by the smoke alarm" Brandon sassed, giving Connor the stink eye. Everybody held back their laughter as they looked at Connors expression on his face.

"Let it go," he whined, throwing his head back in laughter.

"We're not going to let you live this down, Smokey." Troye joked, nudging the boy.

"isn't that the name of that wildfire bear or whatever?" Connor questioned, looking annoyed at the use of his nickname he was given a few hours beforehand. Troye just nodded, taking another sip of his milk.

"So what is everybody doing today?" Cheryl asked, pouring herself and Connor a cup of coffee.

"Andrea and I are going to the mall," Zoe responded, looking over to Andrea who nodded in a confirmation, "then we're meeting up with Alfie and Kian for a double date," she finished, looking slightly embarrassed for unknown reasons.

"I have practice," Brandon responded, shoveling another forkful of pancakes into his mouth. "Nicola is driving me." Nicola looked annoyed, but agreed all the same.

"What?" Bethany asked. "Nicola, i thought you said you'd drive Troye and I," she whined, looking over at Troye.

"I know, i'm sorry." Nicola sighed, "Maybe Con can take you," she suggested, giving Connor a look that said 'ha-ha.'

"What? No no no, i have plans with Netflix," Connor quickly stated, trying to come up with an excuse to get out of spending another second with Troye. "Where are you even going?"

"We're getting my nose pierced," Troye responded, sitting up and looking proud. Connor just furrowed his eyebrows in confusion, why would someone like Troye want a nose piercing? "Joey knows a dude who will do it for me in his shop."

"Con will you please drive us? I'll pay for gas money!" Bethany begged, trying everything she could to get her step brother to drive her and her friend. Connor looked over at Troye, who shared the same puppy-dog-like expression on his face. Connor groaned and threw his head back once again.

"Don't you need parent permission, though?"

"I'm eighteen, I don't need it."

"Then why can't you drive yourself?"

"I got a speeding ticket the other day so I don't have my driving privileges,"

"Why don't you have Joey pick you up?"

"He's meeting us there, it's out of his way to come here, I already asked," Troye explained, his face dropping as he played with the syrup reminisce on his plate.Nicola shifted uncomfortably in her seat. Connor saw how the smile on Troye's face immediately dropped.

"He can't go out of his way to pick up his boyfriend? That's so stupid," Connor sighed, looking apologetic towards Troye "I guess I'll take you guys," he finally gave in, the only reason being he felt bad for the boy.

The smile returned to Troye's face as he thanked Connor over and over. Connor already knew this was going to be a long ass day.
