As soon as Connor pulled up into the Mellet driveway, the first thing he saw through the living room window was Troye pacing back and forth, hands disheveled in his hair. Connor immediately put his car in park, grabbing his keys and running up to the door.
"Stop blaming me!" He heard Troye yell, his voice sounding shaken up and scared. "It's not my fault!"
Connor didn't think he should knock on the door, but he did so anyways. There wasn't really going to be good timing for his actions anyways.
"I'll get it," Troye huffed, the sound of stomping feet bombarded Connor's ears. "What do you- Connor?"
"Troye I'm so s-" Connor couldn't finish his sentence, he was being wrapped in a hug from Troye. "Troye, sh it's okay."
Troye sniffled, pulling away from Connor then wiping his eyes. "No it's not," he countered. "My dad left, and my siblings are blaming it on me."
"Why would they do that?" Connor inquired, wanting nothing more than for Troye to be okay.
"I, because, they say it's because I'm gay, but that's not true!" Troye yelled, as if he was trying to convince both he and Connor. "It's not true, Connor! My dad doesn't care about me being gay!"
"I believe you, love." Connor placed a reassuring hand atop his boyfriends shoulder. "Why don't you grab your stuff and come over for a little while? Until you're ready to come back home?" he suggested, hoping Troye would agree. After all, it seemed as if the Mellet family needed some time to cool down.
"What about my mom? She's a mess, she needs me!" Troye cried out, trying to pull away from Connor.
"Tro, it looks like Sage has it under control." Connor tried convincing Troye, but Troye is family-oriented, so it takes a lot to get Troye to agree to ditching his family during a time like this.
"I don't know, Con..." The Australian sighed, looking back through the window. "I just want to help them,"
"I know you do, baby, but I think they all need time to think, and so do you."

It wasn't easy, but eventually Connor had managed to get Troye to agree to coming over. However, when Troye walked back inside the Mellet house to retrieve his stuff, all Connor could hear was Tyde talking to Sage and Laurelle, still blaming the situation on Troye.
"Tyde, honey, it's not your brothers fault," Laurelle stated, shakily.
"I don't know, mum," Connor heard a feminine voice, whom he assumed was Sage, talk. "I think Tyde has a p- oh hi Tok, what are you doing?"
"None of your business," Troye stated in a monotone voice. "I'll be back later," and with that, the front door opened, Troye walked out, and the doors returned to its closed position.
"They hate me, don't they?" Troye asked as soon as Connor started his car. "They literally hate me,"
"No, Tro, no," Connor sympathized. "They love you, T,"
"How would you know? You said love is fake."
The rest of the car ride remained silent.

"dad?" Connor shouted through the house, "Can, uh, can you and Kathy come here real quickly?" Connor seemed nervous, more nervous than Troye, to explain the situation to his father and step-mother. He was afraid they wouldn't let him stay, but if that was the case, they'd just go to Cheryls.
"what's up, Bon?" Peter walked into the living room, Kathy in tow. "Who's this?"
"This is, uh, this is Troye..." Connor stated, fiddling his thumbs as a nervous habit. "His uh, well... can he stay here tonight? And maybe a couple nights after that?"
