For the second time that day, Connor pulled into the Mellet driveway, only this time with a nervous and frightened boy in his passenger seat."Do you want me to come in with you?" Connor asked, giving his boyfriend a concerned look.
Troye nodded, "Please do." He hesitantly opened the door to Connors car, wincing at the sound of the door slamming shut behind him. As soon as Connor was out of the car as well, he made his way over to Troye's side, grabbing onto his hand.
When they arrived to the front door, Troye was surprised to see the living room lights on and the door left unlock. This was very unusual for the Mellet family, especially at this time of night, but today has been an unusual day (and long one, too).
As soon as Troye walked into the house, the first thing he noticed was the head of his youngest brother, Tyde, snapping up. Followed by a sigh of relief.
"Troye, I-"
"Listen, if you're going to blame me for dad leaving, then please keep it to yourself. I only came back because I fe-" Troye was soon cut off by the feelings of arms wrapping around his torso tightly, along with the sound of sobs escaping his brothers mouth.
Troye and Tyde never hugged. This was nice.
"I'm so sorry, Troye. I was just mad and needed somebody to blame then when I realized how much of an idiot I was, you were gone and you wouldn't answer your phone and-" Troye shushed Tyde, trying to hide his tears. It had been so long since his brother had showed him any affection.
So long.
Connor sat back and smiled at the exchange in front of him. Just a few weeks ago, Troye was leaning his head on Connors shoulder, talking about how he and his brother were so distant.
Things were finally taking a turn.
"I love you, Tok, I'm so sorry" Tyde squeaked out.
"I love you too, Tydles." Troye kissed the top of his brothers head. "How's mum?"
Tyde pulled away from his brother, the slight smile leaving his face. "It's like the night she found out he was cheating on her," Tyde frowned, Troye copied his brothers actions. "She keeps saying she's a horrible wife and I don;t know what to do."
When Laurelle first found out about Shuan's affairs, she refused to leave her bedroom. She'd always sit there, crying and blaming herself for being a horrible mother and wife. Troye hated seeing his mo like that, and he hated that he'd have to see her like that again.
"Let's give her time to rest up, yeah? I'll talk to her in the morning," Troye patted Tyde on his back. Connor could tell Troye was still hurt from what Tyde had said earlier in the day, but he knew things would end up being perfectly okay between the two siblings.
The next morning, however, things were seeming dark. Laurelle wouldn't stop blaming herself, no matter how much the Mellet kids tried to convince he otherwise. Connor had watched the whole thing from afar, as per Troye's request. He didn't want to interfere with the family and their personal problems, but Troye still wanted him there for moral support.
"How is she doing?" Connor asked as soon as Troye walked into his room. Troye sighed, plopping himself down on his bed.
"Better, but she's still sad."
"That's understandable," Connor moved closer to Troye, placing his hand on the boys back and robin it up and down. "How are you doing?"
"I've been better, that's for sure," he sighed again, leaning his head onto Connor's shoulder, just as he had done week prior.
The little moments, Connor thought, are simply the best.
"Thank you," Troye broke the silence, lifting his head to make eye contact with Connor. "You've helped me with so much,"
"It's my pleasure," Connor smiled, leaning down to give Troye a brief kiss on the lips. "I love making people happy,"
"Well, Mr.Franta, you make me so fucking happy,"
"And you make me happy, Mr. Mellet."
Troye stretched his neck to give Connor another kiss, this time making it longer and more heated than before. Once they broke apart, it was impossible to tear the smiles off their faces. Connor had managed to show Troye want it was like to be appreciated before and after they started dating. Joey was never able to do that for Troye.
Everything was really heading up stream.
