Chapter 12- Getting Kicked out of Starbucks

"Crap," I whispered, hoping that Alex hadn't heard.

Of course, he did.

"What?" he said. "Why are you avoiding me?"

That was the one question I was dreading.

"Whaaat," I drawled, "I was doing no such thing."

Alex narrowed his eyes and took a step towards me, which resulted in my boobs being pressed up against his chest. It wasn't very comfortable.

Darn you, you tiny-ass closet!

"What did you just say?" Alex asked, his eyebrows furrowed.

"W-what? I didn't say anything."

Damn it mouth. You had one job: to STAY CLOSED

"Yes you did."

"No I didn't."

"Yes you- never mind," he replied, sighing.

I smiled in triumph. This caused one side of Alex's mouth to turn up.

Oh, god. That smirk was so sexy.

Okay, Samantha Elizabeth Edwards, snap out of it.

My subconscious was really having fun today.

"Now answer the question."

Alex's statement brought me back to reality.

His hot breath fanned my face and I felt my armpits getting a little sweaty.

I hope I remembered to put deodorant on this morning.

"I honestly have no clue what you're talking about," I responded nonchalantly, even though I was actually dying from the proximity between me and this hot hunk of meat in front of me.

Wait, what?

Alex groaned.

"Would you just answer the damn question?" he exclaimed, the volume of his voice increasing.

My eyes widened.

"Jesus, calm down! All you had to do was ask!"

Alex's eyes narrowed even further, almost to the point where they were completely closed.

I let out a breath.

"My brother, Zach, told me something about you that I don't want to believe. But I do," I stated, looking up at him through my eyelashes.

"Zach Edwards is your brother? Shit," he responded.

"Yeah. Shit is right," I muttered.

"Look, about Rebecca," he said, "I was stupid back then. I didn't think about the consequences of my actions and I regret it everyday."

"Whatever," I mumbled, "it doesn't matter."

"Do you forgive me?"

"I'll forgive you when you apologize to Zach," I replied.

"What," he whispered in disbelief.

"Apologize to Zach. Then I'll forgive you. Until then, I'm not going to talk to you."
