~Chapter Ten~

"Are we seriously watching Mean Girls?" Cory asks. "Yep," I say, my eyes glued to the screen. All throughout the movie I quote my favorite parts. Mean Girls is a classic. After the movie is over Maddy gets up and starts the horror/scary movie. The movie isn't that scary so far. About five minutes in there's a jumpscare. I jump and grab Cory's arm. I realize what I did and let go. I blush and mutter, "Sorry." He laughed, "It's fine." I get up and walk into the kitchen, trying to get away from the awkwardness.
  I get a bottle of water out from the fridge and sip on it and sigh. I jump onto the counter and enjoy the silence. I close my eyes and take a deep breath. I think I'm falling for Cory and I'm scared. The feeling of falling in love is scary but amazing. For me it's mostly scary. Falling means trusting, and trusting means getting hurt later on. I feel a tear roll down my cheek. I squeeze my eyes shut, attempting to stop myself from crying anymore. I take deep breaths. I hear footsteps getting closer and I open my eyes.
  Cory stands in front of me looking concerned. "Are you okay?" He asks quietly. I shake my head, not trusting my voice. He hugs me tightly and I instantly hug back. Minutes later I pull away from the hug and say, "We better get back to the movie. Don't want anyone worrying." He just nods and grabs my hand. He leads me into the living room. I know I'm blushing so I look down. Cory and I sit down in our precious seats and he puts his arm around my waist. I blush even more. I look over and see Max looking at me. He raises his eyebrows questioningly. I notice he is sitting really close to Paige and raise my eyebrows. He just rolls his eyes and continues watching the movie. "Well guys we better go," Adam says standing up. I stand up and hug him. I also hug Alesa. "Y/n, do you want to record a Do Not Laugh with Max, Ross, and I tomorrow? You can use the empty office next to mine." Adam asks. "That sounds amazing," i answer. They say their goodbyes then leave. I sit back down next to Cory and he puts his arm around me again. My face turns a deep red for the millionth time this night. Someone in the movie screams which causes me to jump. Cory laughs at me and I pout. "Don't laugh at me!" I whine. He just continues to laugh.
  When the horror movie ends Maddy gets up to put in the final movie. All they guys groan as they see the title screen. "That's it. I'm going," Tim Tim says then walks out. "He left because he knew he was going to cry if he stayed to watch it," Max says. Now only Cory, Max, Paige, Maddy and I are left. I snuggle up to Cory as the movie continues. I know Max is going to interrogate me about this later but I couldn't care less.
