A scream woke me up. I was up in a flash with my bow pointed and loaded. I shot a walker headed for Rick behind his back. He gave me a quick nod before stabbing another walker. I continued to shoot until I ran out of arrows. I took out a walker using my machete. I took out another walker and felt a sharp pain in my leg. I looked down and saw Carl trying to swing the axe. "Did it have blood on it?" "No."  "Ok then. Come on." I kept him in front of me while trying to clear a path to the RV. I shut the door when one of the girls grabbed him.

"Miranda are you all right?" I nodded and held my leg. No I was not all right that was obvious. His kid swung a freaking axe into my leg! "Was she bit?" "Wow Daryl you actually sound concerned." A flash of anger went through his eyes making him seem more intimidating. "Just wondering when I'll get to put an arrow through your skull."    "You wanna go? I'll kill ya right now!" We both pulled our bows. I knew his arrow would hit first but we would both most likely be dead in a minute. Rick pushed us apart causing us to lower our weapons. "We need to get moving Miranda go with Daryl. Make up before our next stop."

I kept watching the vehicles in front of us trying to pass the time. Daryl wasn't a talker so the truck was silent. He kept his face emotionless and his eyes were glued to the jeep in front of us. "What did you do before this?" "None of your business what I did." I rolled my eyes and looked back out the window. I think I fell asleep because the next thing I remember was waking up with alone in the truck.

I sat up to see the other cars gone. I got out of the truck and fell on someone. "Jesus.. What the hell?" "You really are stupid Randy." I wrinkled my nose at the name and got off of him.  "Where is everyone?"

"They went down the road to a house."  "Why aren't we there?" "Only enough room for them."  I shook my head and got back in the truck. "Come on in Daryl. We can stop hating each other for a few hours."

"Randy! Wake up." "What's going on?" "We're surrounded." I peeked over the window and saw dozens on them outside. "Cover me." I went through the back window and got into my bag. A smirk spread across my face when I found it. "Is that a grenade?" "No it's a freaking light bulb. Yes it's a grenade!"

I pulled the pin and threw it as far as I could. "Are you crazy?" "Nope. I was tested." It exploded and walkers started heading towards the explosion. "We don't have long." I grabbed my stuff and jumped out of the truck. Daryl followed after me into the woods.

We walked through the woods pretty much back to back. I fell and clutched my leg. "How is it?" "It's fine." I slowly got back up holding in my scream of pain.

I leaned against the tree and tossed Daryl a bag of jerky. "Morning. You know you snore." "Whatever." Does he really need to be so hateful? We're stranded in the woods and I'm stuck with someone I hate. I unwrapped my leg and looked at the large gash. I pulled out a sewing kit and strung a needle. "What are you doing?" "Fixing my leg. I'll have to take it out later."

"So what are you? A doctor or something?" "Is it your business?" He kept staring at the ground and I sighed. "I was a surgeon for three years." I wrapped my leg back up hoping to not get it infected.
