I sat on a rock sharpening sticks to a point for my bow. Daryl sat a few feet away doing the same. We mostly exchanged glares and blaming each other for the situation we are in. It was raining but there wasn't much we could do. We needed more ammo if we were going to find his group. I put the last one in my holder and got my stuff. "We need to keep moving." "Then let's go."  He pushed past me causing me to roll my eyes in annoyance.

"Do you hear that?" "No do your dog ears hear something I don't?" He glared at me but I ignored it. We kept walking but were extra cautious. That's when I felt it. Nothing seemed right... well as right as it can be out here. I looked behind us and grabbed Daryl's collar. "What?!" I glared and pointed at the walkers heading for us. We started to run knowing we would be out numbered. I put my back to his and we kept moving. "Why are they moving in such large groups?" "They're adapting. They know they can outnumber us." I looked up at him and my heart stopped. This is going to get worse. We came to a cliff and got cornered.

"What now, princess?" "We go up." I put my bow on my back and started climbing the cliff. Daryl started cussing and joined me. "I think your doctor got it wrong you are insane." "Doesn't surprise me."

We both smiled at each other for the first time. I heard rocks fall and I looked down to see Daryl's foot about to slip. The walkers started to get wound up and kept jumping towards us. I knew they couldn't get us this far up but I couldn't just let Daryl die. I grabbed his arm just as he slipped. "I've got you." "That's what I'm worried about."

I held onto him and climbed up the rock. I rolled up onto the ground and pulled him the rest of the way. He looked down at his hand and sighed. I took them in my hands and looked at the cuts from the rock. He jerked them away but I just took them back. "Quit acting like a child." It didn't take me long to fix his hands. I went ahead and made the fire myself. "Is that SPAM?" "Don't like it?" "No it just reminds me- Never mind." I handed him a can of beans and sat down. "I think we need to talk if we're going to keep saving each other."  "About what?"

"Why you hate me so much." He shrugged obviously not willing to talk. I laid down and tried to get some sleep.

I jumped awake by the sound of a twig snapping. Daryl was up as well with his bow. I heard something from both directions so we moved back to back. I glanced at the fire that was now to embers and the sun was beginning to rise. It gave us some light but not much. For the first time in a long time I was scared. They didn't seem like walkers, they would've already been out of the trees if they were. Daryl seemed like he was thinking the same because I felt him tense. I closed my eyes and listened. One step, two step, snap. My eyes popped open and a man stepped out. He held up his gun looking to kill. Daryl moved his elbow into my shoulder slightly. Looking over quickly two men came from his side.

The odds were simple. They might think they have one more but we don't count as just one person. From what I can see Daryl does just as much damage as the three here. "Hey good looking." "Hey asshole.." "Got a bad attitude don't ya? We're just here to help."

"Doubt it." "Did anyone talk to you?"  I backed further into Daryl when he came closer to me. I kicked him back and Daryl traded me places. "What's the plan?" "Don't have one." Perfect..

Daryl fell to the ground and when I looked back someone hit me over the head. I fell on Daryl and grabbed his shirt just as it all went black.
