Tyler's P.O.V.

I watched as Jasmine and Kayla talked back and forth on the mat.

It was obvious that whatever they were talking about, Jasmine was hitting a nerve.

Kayla, who had started out relaxed and carefree, was now completely ridged.

Suddenly, Kayla's foot snapped up and kicked Jasmine square in the face.

The sound of Jasmine's nose breaking sounded loudly throughout the gym as she crumpled to the floor, unconscious.

Everyone stood in shocked silence.

Kayla stumbled back in surprise.

" I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to," she whispered quietly.

She turned and bolted from the room.

I watched carefully as she did so.

When she reached the door, she turned and ran to the left.

I turned to the coach who was still surprised beyond words.

" coach?" I called and he turned to me.

" yes mister Zolio?" He asked.

" can I go after her?" I asked.

" why not one of her best friends?" He questioned, motioning to Allison who, to my surprise, didn't seem shocked at all.

In fact, she looked more like she wanted to hurt someone.

She stood motionless, glaring at Jasmine.

" I'm her boyfriend sir, I might be able to help her," I explained.

He nodded.

" Very well, you are excused," he granted.

I nodded and ran from the gym.

Reaching the doors, I took a sharp turn left, as she had.

I really hoped that I could find her.

Coming upon another choice of turns, I had to stop.

There was no way to be sure which way she had gone and I was about to just make a random 50/50 guess when something caught my attention.

To the left, the carpet was perfect, it had just been vacuumed.

The carpet the the right, however, had been walked on recently.

Or run on.

I made my decision.

I took a quick turn to the right.

Another option of turns came up and I silently thanked God that they had just vacuumed the carpet and that my girl had chosen to run down abandoned hallways.

Wait, my girl.

God, what was I thinking.

This wasn't like me.

I'm the player who doesn't care about the girls I get with.

But Kayla wasn't like other girls I had been with.

She was special.

I mentally slapped myself.

Relationships between spies were tricky especially spies with parents like ours.

We had legacies to carry on and we couldn't do that if we were getting killed to save each other.

But on the other hand, our kids would be probably some of the best spies the world had ever known.

Spies have secrets too. //Wattys 2016Where stories live. Discover now
