Kayla's P.O.V.

"No, no, no, nooooo," I shook my head, trying to back away from Maggie.

Tyler was in my way, and I stumbled into him.

"Don't you wanna help her?" Tahlia asked.

"NO!" I shouted.

Everyone jumped.

Looking around, I saw them staring at me in astonishment.

"What?" I breathed.

"Why wouldn't you want to help her?" Rachel whispered gingerly.

"Because it doesn't matter," I exclaimed.

"It's Annie, of course she matters!" Allison argued.

I turned my icy glare on her.

"I'm not saying, nor will I ever say, that Annie doesn't matter," I ground out, "I'm saying that whether we find out who killed her or not, she's still dead,"

My breaths came out shakily as I tried to calm down.

Maggie was the only one among us who didn't seem fazed.

She shrugged.

"So you say it doesn't affect you?" She proposed.

"Not enough to matter," I replied.

"Except my bosses are trying to kill you. You were their original target," she explained, her eyes wandering to her gun.

She rubbed a small streak of blood from the barrel then left it alone.

"Ummmm, yeah," I nodded.

This wasn't news to me.

About two days after the attack, we found out that one of my old nannies had wanted fast cash.

She released the information to some type of criminal group, and she was now living comfortably on a private, tropical island.

"Aren't you scared?" Maggie asked, looking over my face carefully.

"Tell me something I don't know and maybe," I shrugged like it was nothing.

"No you don't understand, there's a price on your head," Maggie insisted.

"Yeah, 2.3 million if I'm brought alive and 500k if I'm dead," I interrupted.

"It's...wait, how'd you know?" Maggie asked, finally showing some type of emotion.

"Girl, my parents are the best spies in the world, and I'm not so bad either. They found out what they could legally, and I used....alternate sources," I explained vaugly.

"'Alternate sources'?" Tyler mused.

I nodded.

"Care to elaborate?" Matt asked.

"Of course my dear Watson," I nodded.

He looked at me blankly, and I just stared back.

"That's it!" Zack exclaimed, and we all jumped.

"What's what?" Stella asked.

"Her skill," he replied.

"Kay smart one, elaborate," Allison scowled.

"It was so familiar because it's basically the same principal as Sherlock Holmes," he explained.

They looked blankly at him.

"Okay, am I the only one that's confused?" Dylan asked.

Little did they know that he was actually on the right track.
