Kayla's P.O.V.

I was awoken by a shock flying up my arm.

My arm flew to my watch, and I turned it off.

I tried to work my way out of Tyler's arms, but they were like iron.

After five minutes of trying to escape, I gave up on that approach and tried to think of something else.

Then something came to me.

Shifting positions, I blew on his face.

His arm went up to touch his face, and I seized the opportunity.

Rolling from his grasp, I got into a crouch.

I knew that these beds creaked even if you just moved a little.

Looking around, I tried to find the best place to jump.

My eyes landed on a rug, and I decided that would be the best place to land.

Pushing off, I landed on the rug and tried to absorb the landing.

I landed with a soft thump and froze.

Looking back up at Tyler, I held my breath to see if I had woken him up.

He stirred a little but didn't wake up.

"Yes," I whisper cheered.

Walking to the door, I tried to open it.

It wouldn't budge.

Then I remembered that he had set up a code earlier.

"Damn it," I exclaimed quietly.

I knew all of the codes were five digits from the pad.

Looking closely, I saw that there was oil on 2,5, and 9.

"Okay, so ABC, JKL, and WXYZ," I mused to myself.

Off all the keys, 5 was the only number with the oil right in the middle.

Chances are, Tyler, like most people, was lazy when typing, and the five was the only one that he didn't slide his finger over it.

J,K, or L had to be the first.

I zoned in on the oil slides.

It slid up from the center to the 2.

I knew that it had to be the A because it was the only vowel.

"Ja, jay, ka, Kay," I stopped.

"Kayla," I whispered.

I typed in 52952, my name.

The door softly clicked, and it opened a little.

I did a mini victory dance for two reasons.

One, out of all the codes he could have used, he used my name.

Two, I had guessed it in less than two minutes.

After a few seconds, I stopped and slipped through the door.

The course was open to everyone, but everyone was too lazy to act.

The front doors were locked, so no one even tried.

I came to a fork in the passageways.

One way led to the course, and the other led to the abandoned part of the school.

I looked both ways.

I had worked every night since freshman year, and I deserved a break.

Taking a left, I began towards the abandoned part of school.
