On Sherlock's last birthday before Mycroft left for university, Mycroft gave him a pocket watch as a present, to remind him he'd be there with him every second. Mycroft thought Sherlock threw it out in spite or sold it to fund his addiction. He was brought to to tears when it was left to him in Sherlock's will after TRF.
