While Sherlock and John are both proficient at using a gun, their shooting capabilities differ in one regard. When Sherlock's bored and shooting the wall, his aim is impeccable. When he's under stress (like at the swimming pool), his hand shakes very slightly, and he needs to steady the gun with his other hand. John's aim, on the other hand, thrives best with adrenaline.
